man what is this team doing. If Pritchard's on the market, you think the new owner of the Warriors won't make him an offer in a heartbeat?

paul allen and his team haven't found a business he can't run poorly

Just another reason to hate Amare Stoudemire.

That was brutal...a separation, a broken bone, and a sprain all in one fall. There goes any kind of hope for winning a round in the playoffs.

Yeah, tough break paper. No pun intended.

Not sure what Amare had to do with it though. Looks like he just landed awkwardly.

I refuse to watch the clip.I think I'd rather watch a snuff film than watch something like this,or the Shaun Livingston knee injury.

I saw Carlos Delfino's stomping, live. It was... gut-wrenching.

A gentle shove in the back of a player going for a dunk is all it takes to make them lose balance in the air and cause something like this. A push in the lower back like that changes the offensive player's momentum and sweeps their feet up from underneath them, and in this case prevented him from getting a proper grasp on the rim.

If he wasn't scared of getting dunked on like the egotistical offensive-minded player he is, and contested the shot properly, this probably wouldn't have happened.

That scenario of the "shove in the lower back going for the dunk" has caused more serious injuries in games I've seen or played in than any other. It's particularly bad because unlike taking the guy out completely, he still has the forward momentum and upward lift to get seriously airborne, but loses his feet and balance on the way down, most of the time ending with the offensive player landing jarringly on his back.

That's why the NBA has cracked down on these little shoves in the past few years, increasing them from pushing fouls to flagrant 1s & 2s.

And that aside, I just hate the Suns, and Amare in particular...

Thought rp74 would appreciate this walk down memory lane (from Simmons column):

Quote:
Sheed's Portland career nearly earned its own "30 for 30" episode. He wore a "F*** WHAT YA HEARD" T-shirt to his introductory news conference. He was suspended two different times for whipping towels at a teammate and a referee. He drew a seven-game suspension because "he accosted a referee and threatened him." He threatened to punch a sports writer. He whipped a basketball at a teammate who was shooting practice jumpers with his back to him, then ran off giggling as the poor guy writhed in pain. He was arrested for marijuana possession while driving in a car with a teammate. He claimed the NBA exploited black players and said "I ain't no dumb-ass n----- out here" (and was admonished by NBA commissioner David Stern for being "hateful" and "ignorant"). Portland finally traded him a few weeks after he invented the phrase "cut the check," which Sheed defined like this: "As long as somebody 'CTC,' at the end of the day I'm with them. For all you that don't know what CTC means, that's 'Cut the Check.' I just go out there and play. Again, somebody just CTC."

Thanks for the lesson in physics and gravity but I've watched that video several times now and from several different users on youtube and I fail to see where he pushes him.

Seems like you see it that way because you just don't like the guy.

I won't argue it's a dangerous position to be in and the players should be protected while vulnerable like that but I simply don't see any maliciousness there.

Forgot to post this on Monday because I was already in bed when the game ended: Suck it, paper. (though I gotta say, the Bucks have become one of my favorite up and coming teams to check out)

Also, Hawks clinch the 3 seed with last night's Boston loss.

Bitch ass bitch....you know the Bucks are seriously hurting without Bogut though. I'd be happy if we won a game or two in the playoffs to tell the truth. I mean we can't trot out Gadzuric and Kurt Thomas down low and expect to be respectable. I love our team otherwise, Scotty Skiles knows how to get em to play defense...this is the best we've played in a long time. also, Salmons has been a revelation this year, the guy can get to the bucket on anyone.

Yeah, I had to adjust my TV and check the calendar when I saw Kurt Thomas out there.

Salmons is a player though.

overall i have to say i'm happy that the blazers were able to get to 50+ wins with half the team being hurt for varying portions of the year. in fact, looks like the starting line up tonight will have 0 of the opening night starters. also looks like roy is out for the playoffs, which means a series against anyone won't go more than 5 or 6 games.

I've got tickets to the second Bobcats playoff home game (gonna be out of town for the first). Really excited to see how the playoff atmosphere is. I went to the OT home game against the Bucks a few Fridays back and it was awesome - great atmosphere.
