A gentle shove in the back of a player going for a dunk is all it takes to make them lose balance in the air and cause something like this. A push in the lower back like that changes the offensive player's momentum and sweeps their feet up from underneath them, and in this case prevented him from getting a proper grasp on the rim.

If he wasn't scared of getting dunked on like the egotistical offensive-minded player he is, and contested the shot properly, this probably wouldn't have happened.

That scenario of the "shove in the lower back going for the dunk" has caused more serious injuries in games I've seen or played in than any other. It's particularly bad because unlike taking the guy out completely, he still has the forward momentum and upward lift to get seriously airborne, but loses his feet and balance on the way down, most of the time ending with the offensive player landing jarringly on his back.

That's why the NBA has cracked down on these little shoves in the past few years, increasing them from pushing fouls to flagrant 1s & 2s.

And that aside, I just hate the Suns, and Amare in particular...

Thanks for the lesson in physics and gravity but I've watched that video several times now and from several different users on youtube and I fail to see where he pushes him.

Seems like you see it that way because you just don't like the guy.

I won't argue it's a dangerous position to be in and the players should be protected while vulnerable like that but I simply don't see any maliciousness there.

Bitch ass bitch....you know the Bucks are seriously hurting without Bogut though. I'd be happy if we won a game or two in the playoffs to tell the truth. I mean we can't trot out Gadzuric and Kurt Thomas down low and expect to be respectable. I love our team otherwise, Scotty Skiles knows how to get em to play defense...this is the best we've played in a long time. also, Salmons has been a revelation this year, the guy can get to the bucket on anyone.

Yeah, I had to adjust my TV and check the calendar when I saw Kurt Thomas out there.

overall i have to say i'm happy that the blazers were able to get to 50+ wins with half the team being hurt for varying portions of the year. in fact, looks like the starting line up tonight will have 0 of the opening night starters. also looks like roy is out for the playoffs, which means a series against anyone won't go more than 5 or 6 games.

I've got tickets to the second Bobcats playoff home game (gonna be out of town for the first). Really excited to see how the playoff atmosphere is. I went to the OT home game against the Bucks a few Fridays back and it was awesome - great atmosphere.
