LSU is recruiting DEXTER MANLEY II. That' right, they allowed Dexter Manley to reproduce. If he decides to go to LSU, we must hide all the women and children immediately. Anybody want to place bets on how many innocents are harmed in a cocaine fueld rage?

Kurtz, is this Dexter, Jr. from McINtosh, or has Dex gone the GPayton route?!??

oh, is literacy a pre-req for LSU ;)

He's coming JUCO, and literacy only applies to non-football players at LSU.

Do you think when asked his name he says, "Dexter Manley" then raises his two fingers?

Yeah, pretty sure that its the dude who graduated from our high school a couple years ago. He actually grew up with his mom (shocking!) and according to what my homeboy Nicky6 told me, they live in Big Rick and Little San's (that's Mr and Mrs. Bloor to y'all) neighborhood.

I'm assuming that, going to McIntosh and all, that he can at least read, but then again you never know.

I guess Aaron Beavers counts as sort of famous since his band is getting airplay and all.

Edit: I think the drummer, Damon, went to our HS as well

I think you're right, Yail. Damon Allen sounds like an awfully familiar name.

I watched their video. It was kinda surreal. Not really my kind of music, but hey, good luck to them.

What does everyone think about this (maybe/possibly) Big 10 expansion? SEC says it will follow suit if that happens. What teams would you guys want in there?

Why didn't you start a new thread for this?

Anyway, I'd dump Vandy and Arkansas (who doesn't really want to be in the SEC anyway) and add Clemson, FSU, GA Tech, VA Tech, Louisville and maybe one of the directional Florida schools (Central or South)

There was some story on FBaum the other day about how Texas almost joined the SEC
http://blog.al.com/press-register-sport ... _join.html

Who is shocked that a state legislature queered the whole deal?

I Think they should just go full on "Dixie Conference"

This Shiller sounds like a heck of a guy. And, whoever "lost" FSU should be beaten with big saps and flogged publicly ala whomever "lost China" for the CIA in the 50s.

I get kicking Vanderbilt to the curb, & Arkansas, as well, but why pick up Virginia Tech?

Louisville, rival to UK, makes sense. Clemson & Georgia Tech, rivals to your nemesis The Ol' Ball Coach & alma mater, respectively. FSU, to go with UF. Va Tech is the odd man... in? Why not Miami (FL) instead?

Also, I look forward to the Branson Conference that will result from the pillaging of the ACC & Big 12. Arkansas, OU & Ok St, Kansas, Kansas State, Mizzou -- &, what the hell, let Iowa State & Nebraska in on it too. (Though, whenever the Big 10 talks expansion, I always wonder why ISU is not considered.)

With that type of re-alignment, I wonder why they don't throw NEB into the Big 10 (+8) or whatever.

And Va Tech has made themselves into a force to be reckoned with -- 20 years ago no one would have considered them, and now they're wanted by the #1 conference in the country. Good on 'em.

And hell, I wouldn't have let adding A&M ruin adding Tejas, but that's just me.

Miami isn't seen as viable because its not seen as academically and "socially" in the same league as the others.

This is of interest to me because of the pillaging of the Big East. Where WVU would go--ACC probably. I also read that if all the chips fall, Cincy will be the odd duck, since no one really wants them in their conference.

VA Tech, Clemson and GT would all be good fits for SEC. Always wondered why Clemson kinda fell into the ACC. Texas is just kinda weird choice.

Why wouldn't WVU and Pitt join the Big 20 with Penn State and OSU? They're actually further west than State College

Pitt is apparently on the list for the Big 10.

Let's not forget that this isn't about competitiveness on the field, this is about tv ratings. WVU is an isolated entity in a tiny state. Rabid fanbase, but localized to WV. That doesn't really bode well with the Big 10, who apparently want NY--Rutgets and Syracuse. Both have high academic standards, and would give them a foothold in the NY market. WVU, because of its competitiveness would find a home quickly, especially if a bunch of ACC teams jump ship for SEC.

I say SEC should snatch em up, go to 4 divisions, and basically start their own playoffs
