Jonathan Davis and his porn-star wife saw Chris Martin and Gwynneth's Apple, and raised it a plank, naming their son Pirate Howsmon Davis.

What do you think?

(I am... meh, on this. I love Korn, and pirates (if not necessarily all piracy), so I should love that a son of Korn is named Pirate. And, the tempstress, but level-headed, barista at my favorite cafe hang (she's a fairly unadorned (one ear piercing high), devout Lutheran, but from saying "some of my friends think I am the worst thing since Eve, and some can't believe how chaste I have remained", I can tell she's had her experiences (pot, ecstasy, five or six partners (maybe one of them female)), but she keeps it under-wraps, behind closed doors, where well it would be if this were 1915) was intrigued by the name. But, I can't get with naming children after professions: Scout, Pilot, Reader, etc.)

A think we could do with a few Ninja pirates, though.

Like maybe Captain Lon Don Siva or something.

Jason Lee named his kid Pilot Inspektor.

What ever happened to old fashioned names like Dweezil and Moon Unit?

Or Roland Bolan and Zowie Bowie?

Celebrities try too hard.
If these kids lived anywhere else, they'd get their ASSES beat, just for their names.

My real name is Ass Beat, based on the Biblical story of Balaam and the Donkey. Dad was trying to make a dual point there.

I guess maybe famous people feel like they're perhaps less constrained to the traditional cannon of accepted names. In that respect, more power to 'em. But what you do with that freedom is certainly debateable... Pirate? C'mon. By the time he hits 3rd grade, and hears his one millionth "aaaargh!" joke, he's gonna go home and kick his dad in the balls, and rightly so. Or, he'll just grow up with severe emotional problems, which was a fair bet anyway, considering his stock.

[Costanza]Have you given any thought to naming your child Soda? Any at all? 'Cause, Seven was kind of, y' know, our deal. Mine and Susan's. I don't know... It just seems a little, uh, unfair that you didn't put any work into it, but are taking the name.[/Costanza]

well, I guess on the plus side, you could shorten his name to Pyre, which might actually be cooler. Now, if he had Jack-Jack superpowers, this might be a working solution.

Other stupid celebrity baby names:

David Beckham and Posh Spice - Romeo, Brooklyn and Cruz
Toni Braxton - Diezel and Denim
Elle Macpherson - Aurelius
Sean Penn - Take Hopper
Michael Jackson - Prince Michael and Paris
Courteney Cox and David Arquette - Coco
David Duchovny and Tea Leoni - Kyd
Jermaine Jackson - Jermajesty
Bono - Elijah Bob Patricius Guggi Q
Shannyn Sossamon - Audio Science
and then of course, there's Paula Yates' kids:
Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, Fifi Trixibelle, Peaches Honeyblossom, and Pixie

Cue Beavis. "Fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire...."

Obviously, Beckham is the blackest man in England. That said, it is incredibly ballsy to name your child for where she was conceived.

Hey! It's Kyd Duchovny, the Russian Cowboy.

Shannyn Sossamon - Audio Science

This only makes Shannyn hotter. She's a little beat-in, vaginal, and a fitness queen besides... She's had a kid? On that frame?... Her body looks that good, after a kid?

Damn. I must have her.

Cue Banal Rapist. "Oh, well, take off your clothes... I'm going to rape you... Oh, well."

I nominate Jermajesty as the best of that list in every conceivable way.
