I heard the "new" single "Plundered My Soul" - pretty good, if fairly obviously re-done.

here's an interesting article. I can't wait for this to show up in my mailbox

Anyone else notice that ABC played Rip this Joint at the start of their broadcast of the Lakers v Jazz game?

Fallon Guests to Cover Exile Tunes

I'm morbidly curious, but not so much that I will stay awake for this.

You guys probably have most of these but...

http://nightofthepurplemoon.blogspot.com/2010/05/real-exile-outtakes.html

Tracklisting:

01. Exile On Main Street Blues (the 1972 NME flexi-disc excerpt)
02. Get A Line On You (early version of Shine A Light)
03. Good Time Women (early version of Tumbling Dice)
04. Shake Your Hips (a Sam Moore aka Slim Harpo composition)
05. Hillside Blues (outtake, 11min version)
06. Sweet Virginia (alternate)
07. Bent Green Needles (early instrumental version of Sweet Black Angel)
08. Loving Cup (early version, possibly late ’60s)
09. Ventilator Blues (rehearsal; credited to Mick Taylor as well)
10. I Ain’t Signifying (outtake)
11. Let It Loose (instrumental take)
12. All Down The Line (alternate acoustic version)
13. Travelin’ Man (unreleased)
14. Stop Breaking Down (alternate)
15. Shine A Light
16. I’m Going Down (alternate; credited to Mick Taylor as well)
Notes:
Recorded at Ville Nellcote, Villefranche-sur-Mer, France, May to September 1971. Mostly excellent soundboard.
FLAC & @320

More 'Exile' Outtakes

Tracklisting:

01. Leather Jacket
02. Sweet Black Angel
03. Potted Shrimp
04. Aladdin Story
05. Ain't Gonna Lie
06. Loving Cup II
07. All Down The Line II
08. All Down The Line (Withdrawn Single)
09. I Don't Care
10. Exile On Main Street Blues
Notes:
Some of these sessions probably date as far back as 1969, but as Jagger himself has decided that these fit into the 'Exile' vibe I have done the same. 'Aladdin Story' is from I believe The Trident Sessions from that year (69) but is reworked on the new release as 'So Divine'. 'Sweet Black Angel' in this set is the same as 'Bent Green Needles' in the other file. Sorry!

Also, the price shot up to $136.89. Huh? $116, then that hike?

If anyone is interested, there was a recent podcast with producer Don Was on the All Songs Considered podcast. I listened this morning and eventhough I'm not a huge fan of RS, I found it really interesting.

Producer Don Was talks about his work finding and mixing unreleased tracks for the legendary album.

While at the Grammy Museum to see Chris Hillman last night, I picked up a ticket to go to this:

GrammyMuseum Wrote:
The Drop: Exile on Main Street Thursday, June 3, 2010; 8pm

Be among the first to hear celebrated producer Don Was talk about the re-release of the Rolling Stones' seminal 1972 album, Exile on Main Street (Universal Music). Before an intimate audience of 200 in the Museum's GRAMMY Sound Stage, hear Was in conversation with GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares Vice President Scott Goldman about the original recording, previously unreleased tracks, and continual impact of what many consider the most influential album in the Stones' impressive catalog. During the evening, Was will also play tracks and take questions from the audience.

Doors open at 7:30pm. On sale Monday, May 10, tickets are $12 and can be purchased in-person at the Museum Box Office, online at Ticketmaster.com, or by calling 1.800.745.3000.

Watched Stones in Exile on television the other night.

Wasn't that great.

Why the fuck was Will.I.Am's opinion sought about this?
