these are the tracks that i've listened too most so far this year. it's pretty amazing how varied electronic music is, especially nowadays. so many fresh ideas/vibes...pretty inspiring.

appears to be a lot of great tracks on this. definitely my favourite four tet track. been dipping my toes in floating points and actress lately, and will check the rest out on the strength of what i already know. have been giving more attention to electronic this year than in recent past, and while i felt there might be a breakthrough of originality this year, it still seems pretty safe. whatever, checking this out. thanks d.

Haven't checked the mix yet, but I wanted to say I'm thoroughly enjoying the Four Tet album. Current fave of 2010 thus far.

05 breakage - vial (feat. burial) // this one ended and I didn't realize it had been playing for 3:54
06 bullion - crazy over you // this track is decent and combines a few current styles of electronic while not sounding like anyone else in particular
07 demdike stare - forest of evil (dawn) // I have to be in the right mood to enjoy long electro-drone tunes. Today isn't the day
08 donnacha costello - leaving berlin // not loving this. I'm not as fluent in electronic sub-sub genre speak as I was in the late 90s/early 00s so I can't really precisely convey what I don't like about this
09 floating points - people's potential // reminds me of Jazzanova, which isn't really a good thing
10 flying lotus - computer face // I would've chosen another track, but have been digging Cosmogramma
11 four tet - circling // reminds me I need to listen to this album, but the track is just too quiet to bring anything more than indifference out of me
12 girl unit - IRL // no likey
13 gold panda - you // me likey
14 kingthing - beuno olly // again, indifferent
15 noisia - my world (feat. giovanca) // so I guess Drum n Bass is making a comeback?
16 riva starr - tribute // not feeling it

18 starkey - rain city // I see this guy's name on bills with electro being embraced by the uber-popular hippie/club show scene (AnaSia, OTT, Glitch Mob, Pretty Lights, Big Gigantic, Two Fresh, et al). Doesn't sound that great to me
19 caribou - swim // catchiest track from his new record. Dig it
20 T++ - anyi // meh. This less-aggressive style of DubStep doesn't do it for me
21 untold - bad girls // eh, this one suffers from my fatigue of listening to a lot of electronic at once

bit off on a few counts (Scuba, house??), but glad you listened and dug some of them man.

that Actress album is seriously great, as well as the Bonobo. really looking forward to the Gold Panda album.

gave my first listen to the actress album today, and actually thought there are some subtly interesting things going on in there.

dalen, this could be the year you need to attend MUTEK. great lineup this spring.

i would LOVE too man, but saving for travels later in the year. the lineup this year is spectacular (actress, ben frost, demdike stare, marsen jules, move d, shed).

for anyone interested, this is a new tune i just completed with a friend of mine. new dubstep/techno project. this is the a-side of the forthcoming EP, just mastered yesterday.
