My usual is an Everything Bagel with a ton of cream cheese from Einstein Bros. When I go to Panera I've got to get the Cinnamon Crunch bagel, that shit is delicious...what do you guys eat when you get bagels?

Spinach Florentine at Einstein is pretty good. I miss Bruegger's.

I love lox and cream cheese and capers, but rarely have them.

Sometimes, just toasted and buttered will do it.

That place is great, I used to live about a block from one...I don't get there as often anymore.

We used to do brueggers on the weekends in college in Cleveland. They don't have any in chicago, just one in oak park. They don't have any in TX at all. They also don't have Bob Evans.

That's why the real estate is so cheap, comparatively, because it's like living in the wild with heathens.

do chain places like Einstein Bros make them at each location so that they would taste different in every city? or do they taste the same everywhere?

Yep. We don't really have any real bagel joints around here, not even Einsteins.

Living in Montreal; known to have the best Bagels in the world, there are a lot to choose from. But the best is Fairmount Bagel Bakery on Fairmount - I stear clear of the exotic varieties - a sesame or poppy seed bagel with cream cheese and lox, with a slice of tomato - tough to beat.

When I was in college there was this local place called Boone Bagelry that had the best bagels. I used to get one almost every day between classes. I would either get the Apple Cinnamon one with the cinnamon raisin cream cheese or a sun dried tomato bagel with fried egg, cheese, and ham on it.

Dude, did you hack my psyche?

Fairmount bagels are the Best Montreal Bagels, but this raises the argument: Are Montreal bagels the best in the world?

Nowhere else that I know of can you get a Montreal-style bagel, at least not one that rivals Fairmount or St-Viateur. But nowhere in Montreal can you get a killer twister-poppy bagel like in New York, or even Toronto (where I currently am, with 2 dozen Fairmount sesames in tow for my dad).

Fairmount Bagel, I will miss you 24 hours a day, after tennis, after beers and doobs, on my bike, 5 bagels of a half dozen down, with butter on every bite.

Bagel Broker, on Beverley Blvd., Fairfax area of LA... I've seen a Red Hot Chili Pepper there at least twice... weird thing is I keep running into Flea over the years, in Big Sur of all places last summer... but that's another story irrelevant to Bagels. Noah's isn't bad for a chain.

A) if I were president of food...no onions...for anyone.
B) every other bagel in the bag becomes an everything bagel
C) if its truly an everything bagel, why aren't there gummy bears on it?

oh, so it's just a personal taste issue, not a sanctity to the synagogue of bagel.

carry on.

It's a bit more than a block from 92nd & Bluemound to the Bruegger's to which you refer, but, yeah, it's good.

I don't go there anymore, either, though. Got banned from the coffeeshoppe next door -- true story -- & really don't feel confident going near.

Duuuuude, you ain't old enough to go in Bob Evans. Hell, I ain't old enough. And, coming from someone who clearly knows good food, I'm shocked. B. Evans is some seriously nasty shit.

Marx is pretty awesome in Cincy:

They have some great egg and bagel sandwiches. I also like Bruegger's and usually get the everything bagel too.

I eat a Thomas' whole wheat bagel, toasted with something (preserves, peanut butter/banana, butter/cinnamon/sugar, honey, egg, leftovers etc.) on it for breakfast pretty much every morning.
