That pass where he palmed the ball, faked the layup, then flipped it 'round his back ALL WITH ONE HAND right on the money to that trailing player (Tony Allen maybe?) was just fucking ridiculous. Best pass I've seen in a long time.

I agree. Although I think Kobe is pretty gutsy... he's been playing hurt for months, and never uses it as an excuse.

Rondo was fucking amazing. Is it just that I am in the mood, or has it been a good playoffs so far?

I think it's you.

I think for a casual hoops fan they've been pretty terrible. I think there have been 3 or 4 sweeps so far. If the Lakers and Magic win their next games that will be 3 out of 4 series in the SECOND round that only went 4 games. That's pretty terrible. Shows a lack of parity to me not to mention bad for business.

Although this Cavs/Celts series is shaping up nicely.

LeBron's last game in Cleveland as a Cav perhaps? Perhaps.

I only watched the second quarter, but I just didn't understand the lineup out there at times. I seem to remember a frontline of Shaq, Z, and Varejao for stretches of time. And honestly, I don't understand why JJ Hickson isn't getting any burn. He's a State guy and I'm a homer, but still.

I am disappointed... I really wanted a Lebron v. Kobe match for the Crown. With the Shaq-Kobe subplot.

I think the Magic will beat the Celts... and, well, we already saw that story.

I guess I just don't understand the disparity at times in these playoffs. Just seems to me that one of the premier teams in the league should NEVER lose by 32 in the playoffs. I mean, I know it happens once in a while in the NFL where a team in the first round will lose 44-7 or something but that seems like a rarity. This 2nd round has been terrible with 3 sweeps and now this game. I don't want to discredit the Celts, just more of an overall observation.

Granted, the NBA is probably my 3rd or 4th followed sport but man, this is when the league should shine and I've seen some of the worst turd games ever in these playoffs. Hawks lost by record amounts. That Cavs loss last night was their worst ever in the playoffs.

Just seems like there are flaws in the product.

Kinda like what happened in '84 & '85 and '88 & '89? Why even play the games?

Pistons got robbed in '88 Game 7.

Just sayin'.

Wait a minute... wasn't the "phantom call" on Laimbeer actually in Game 6? Either way, yes, they did get hosed.

I think the magic are clearly playing better ball then anyone right now, although they've also played the worst teams. Still, I don't think Kobe wants any part of 48 minutes of dealing with Pietrus and Barnes, assuming Vince Carter doesn't show up at all. He'll get his points but he'll have to work hard to get there.

No, more kinda like what happened in '97 & '98, '62 & '63, '65 & '66, '68 & '69....

Although some of those repeat series were even more "heated" because of the rematches... those 60's Celt-Lakers series that broke my heart as a boy...

But I wasn't predicting a Lakers' win (although, as YOU well know I am doing that too...) as much as saying the Magic match-ups aren't as interesting to me as the Celts-Lakers...

That's a vastly different Magic team from last year, though. Don't know whether the change moves their needle toward "wins series" or "gets swept" but for at least a game or two it'll be interesting to see how they mesh on the court. Styles make series.
