Friends and Foes

» What are my Friends and Foes lists?
You can use these lists to organise other members of the board. Members added to your friends list will be listed within your User Control Panel for quick access to see their online status and to send them private messages. Subject to template support, posts from these users may also be highlighted. If you add a user to your foes list, any posts they make will be hidden by default.

» How can I add / remove users to my Friends or Foes list?
You can add users to your list in two ways. Within each user’s profile, there is a link to add them to either your Friend or Foe list. Alternatively, from your User Control Panel, you can directly add users by entering their member name. You may also remove users from your list using the same page.

I'd rather it be that we could make friends and foes, but it would be public. No blocking of posts, just forming of different factions.

As slow as this place is, you really can't afford to block anyone who is actually still posting plus as much as I hate to admit it I really don't dislike anyone here.

This is starting to sound like prison. Who do I have to befriend so I don't get raped.

I'm not sure I have either... But would be surprised at either one.

Yeah.

The way the board is now it's a minor event anytime anyone posts anything.

The only reason I even looked at the FAQ was because of the lack of interesting posts (after sifting through the first 6 pages of threads)/board slowness. I found it interesting that there was a feature where you could block someone out. I'm sure Yail Bloor will have a comment as well as the more vocal anti-censorship posters. And I did think of Drinky as someone who might use the feature just to save himself from the influx of toxic chemicals associated with the perceived stress he puts on himself by posting here. Hell, I thought about adding Danny Don't Rapp as my only Foe, but he rarely posts anymore so it's not worth the effort.

So far I haven't been able to read a single post in this thread because you're all on my foe list.

Sounds worthless to me since I basically would rather talk to a foe than most of my friends anyway.

I've seen it used on another board where people actually hate each other (also, people have been banned for threatening people's families and stuff) but I don't think anybody here hates each other (it probably tops out at strong dislike) so it's not really of much use to us.

Obner (and CMJ before it) is a very homogeneous group of people. VERY homogeneous.

You only see their comments that are not in response to you, & vice versa.

put more succinctly: you get pissed off a lot on the board, so maybe if you "hid" the people who piss you off, it would save you some stress. Didn't think it was that hard to understand the first time.
