I've only now discovered it through reruns, and I have a question. Aside from the fact that it would change the entire dynamic and point of the show, is there a reason why ED just doesn't tell that woman that he loves her and wants to be with her? It's startin' to bug me!

Oh did he? Now I'm annoyed that she shot him down. I think the show is well written and witty in general, but the tension is so forced because there's no good reason why they're not together.

In reality that woman is completely giving it up for our boy Ed. Attorney comes back from NYC to the small town to hook it up with her, owns a business and is good looking? No way she hooks up with the alcoholic principal instead of him.

I liked this show pretty well but you're right, that tension is totally forced. By the time the show went off the air I couldn't bare it anymore. It was fine for a season or two but got old quick. Just wait til you get to the episodes with Biff from Back to the Future...
