Some of you might shrug your shoulders at this topic, but the HFStival used to be the premiere festival on the east coast back in the mid-90s. It effectively kicked off the summer festival circuit. I still remember listening as the bands were announced, and sleeping out in front of Sears or Hecht's to get tickets. Good memories.

WHFS went off the air as a "alt-rock" station, and became a latin music station. It all happened pretty quickly. WHFS is back...sorta, and along with it the HFStival. Unfortunately, the line-up is pretty sub par, and quite frankly, belongs back in their heyday rather than 2010.

Fuel? Jimmie's Chicken Shack? Lit? Marcy's Playground? That's not the HFS heyday I remember!

Jimmie's Chicken Shack got a ton of play back in the day. They had that one record that actually went national, and I remember the single was filmed at the 8X10, and got some pretty decent MTV play as well.

I guess I speaking more about Live, Everclear, and Presidents of the USofA.

i'm pretty sure that in '96 i threw a fit about having to do something family-related instead of going to hfstival.

I was there in '95 (and '97). Don't remember seeing you there though. There was a big decline in the line-ups through the latter half of the '90s, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised about this year's line-up.

We were probably all at one or more at the same time. It was THE thing to do.

I was at the '93 and '94 ones for sure. I imagine I might have gone to the '91 and '92 ones but I can't say I really remember either one.

I moved to LA in '94. I went to high school in MD and then lived in MD and VA from '90 to '94 after college. Still have family in the area but usually only make it back around the holidays.
