It's really easy to register your art with the Copyright Office online: http://www.copyright.gov/register/

Never really thought about it. Have had a few concert photos stolen so I pleaded stupidity and watermark stuff now, but that link is pretty cut n' dry.

You don't need to register a work in order for it to be protected by copyright. I don't know about concepts or titles--probably not copywritable, but I'm no lawyer.

I'm no lawyer either, but it's a good idea to register your copyright because it gives you a public record of your ownership of the art, and the ability to sue for damages.

Concepts and titles can't be copyrighted, as far as I know. You might be able to get a trademark on the latter.

I'm an IP lawyer, and I do some copyright work. PM me with questions.

And for starters, it is easy to register a copyright, but you don't need a registration to have copyright rights in a work (but you do need one to sue someone for infringement).

For a trademark, you don't need a registration to have rights either, but a federal registration does give you good benefits if there is ever a dispute over the name/title/logo.
