Has anyone tried it?

What are the rules? How do you play?

http://www.americancornhole.org/ Yes, it's safe for work.

Yep, I made one of them last year. It's definitely more fun when drinking.

It's a staple of tailgating and redneck bars. I'm ok at it, but it's pretty fun.

Its a pretty big thing for gatherings around here. So big in fact, that its a rite of passage to buy a house and build yr own set for the backyard. My friend's have made some pretty nice Natty Boh, Orioles and Ravens ones.

over the last few years, i have only seen this played by people who are drinking, so i've assumed it was a drinking game. but the rules above don't mention anything about that.

It's not strictly a drinking game, just best when drunk. I've occasionally played sober but it gets boring quickly then.

It's a "drinking game" because you can play it while holding a beer.

One of Cincinnati's finer contributions to society.

I made a set last year, bought some bags, but still need to paint it. I never get it out because the kids use it as a ramp, and that ain't cool. Plus I rarely have 3 other male adults who are drinking over to use it. I should finish it and have a cornhole party.

Yeah, it started in the Midwest, right? Femdisco played it in college (early 00's) in *Ohio. It's since permeated every ex-college dude and gal's outdoor party that likely involves beer swilling. I have fun with it and find that I'm better when I'm drunk. I was in a bar in Knoxville, TN a while back and they had a Cornhole video game called Target Toss pro, which has been adapted to the Wii.

*EDIT:

We have a similar game around here that's played with a thinner/non-angled board, smaller holes, and large washers.

I've played, no lie, an arcade version of this game. The controls are basically identical to Golden Tee's.
