It's cute that all you homos are pretending to care about soccer again.

As opposed to surfing the web in drunken loneliness instead of being out in the world with real humans having a life.

I am a homo who loves futbol. Played it in high school and intermural college teams. And now the second half...

While the Green butterfingers event was luck... USA absolutely played them equal in the second half and deserved the tie. This team could get much better through the course of the tournamnet. Better than I expected.

Tim Howard is the fucking man.
I couldn't have wished for much more than we got. The USA was lucky at certain points in time to stay in the game due to shitty Defender play, and Capello should have used some of the 9 million he is getting paid to buy a quality goalkeeper.

they played really well in the 2nd half. got lucky against Green, and damnit Jozy should have had that.

they silenced the "England has this easily" folks.

Wait, harry likes dudes?

Just kidding man.

We don't like soccer, or this motorcycle rally in town, so we're drinking and eating and listening to vinyl.

I really do hate soccer though. I mean HATE. Like Vanessa Carlton/3rd eye Blind hate.

Tim Howard played well but I thought our defenders did a great job. Rooney was visibly frustrated by the end. There wasn't too many good looks for England despite having 3 strikers on the field. We could have stolen the match easily. I thought Bradley should have subbed Gomez and Buddle sooner.

Scotland sends its thanks to our American cousins!

I'd imagine England will beat both Slovenia and Algeria and go through but the hard work starts here for the US, I can't remember who it was but one of the US squad said tonight would be their easiest match and I think I agree with that.

Well a lot of the American players play in England so they know a lot about and are used to playing against the England players. Also the way in which the US play and set up their system means they are the sort of side that England don't do as well against.

Against Algeria and Slovenia the US will probably be favourites which puts them under more pressure and those two sides will play a different style of football, with slower, less attack focused, possession play. The US are better suited to play against teams that will come on to them like England did.

At the last World Cup, US got a result against Italy and lost against a poor-ish Eastern European side and an African side. You can see the parallels.

Because there was no pressure on the US in this one, as opposed to the two that they're supposed to beat.

yeah, the defenders looked pretty good despite that being our biggest concern going into the game...it was great to see Gooch getting back to himself

Bradley had an excellent game...and I don't understand why Clark is still starting with all the other options we have at midfield
