The saxophone is probably my least favorite instrument, or close to it.

Off the top of my head:

The skronk part in the beginning of "Stand Together" on Check your Head.

Funhouse - Stooges
Pretty in Pink - Psychedelic Furs

Classic rock:

Gotta go with my man Bob Seger and "Turn the Page". The lone 5-6 note intro.

For melodic:
"Careless Whisper" - Wham (yes, I'm serious and yes, it's a great song!)

For balls-out solo:
"Super Bad" - James Brown (Maceo proves once again that he IS a motherfucker!)

Louis Prima "Buona Sera"
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band "Mountain of Love"

As far as the Stones with Bobby Keys, I think it's the effect of ALL the horns there that hits me, not any of them in particular.
the sax almost always pisses me off, though.

Everything else pales by comparison.

There's also some great sax on Bob Plant's first solo record, Pictures at Eleven.

yeah it's sad how any mention of a sax brings this to mind for me as well. Just like any mention of Jami Gertz instantly conjures up the scene where she says her name is "Star" just as she waves her hair. gugh. Some movies should not have influenced out generation as much as they did.
