i got some girls on vinyl years and years ago. im still not caught up to it in this thread though so im holding off. hopefully this weekend i can catch up.

right now i'm sort of digging let it bleed. i still stand by "the early stuff was the best"
i just love the energy of an up and coming act vs. an established band.

I had a car that could play data CD-Rs so I used to have one disc full of Stones albums that was omnipresent along with my Hip disc. I never knew what Stones album would be coming on next and I always cranked up 'Dance (Pt. 1)' when it came up. I never think of this as a "great" album though, but it's enjoyable. I love 'Indian Girl'.

Yeah, the above review nails it with "guilty pleasure" - I'm a fan of this album, and even like the title track for all of it's campy Mick-isms. It's not exactly GOOD as it is so bad it's good.

I love Summer Romance, Let Me Go, and Where the Boys All Go - you can see the Vodka and Orange Crush and the mirrors laying around Keef's end of the studio.

And of course, She's So Cold would make any "best of the 80s-90s-00s" Stones comp. Great song.

Man that SG is quite an album. When I lost my copy as a kid I never replaced it. I should have. Emotional Rescue not my favorite but I remember liking She's So Cold and the title track as a kid. I haven't played it since those days. Listening now, I like Indian Girl and Let Me Go. Still no SG here, but I think they barely find their legs one last time coming up.

God, this album sucks no matter how you measure it. I'm still angry over buying the fucker 30 years ago. Even allegedly "good" songs like "She's So Cold" are simply a cartoon version of the Rolling Stones. Fuck this piece of trash.

I actually like Emotional Rescue more than Some Girls. It doesn't have anything quite as good as Miss You but it has a more cohesive sound than Some Girls which kinda comes off as a random collection of songs some really good and some just ok. Emotional Rescue was the last Stones album that i really liked as a whole though.

I'm actually more in the Rads camp when it comes to Emotional Rescue: I've never been a big fan.

In my rankings, it would beat out only the steaming dung heap that is Dirty Work

My loyalty to any band ends as soon as they start releasing crap. With the Alice Cooper Group it was pretty fun for a while. The first two albums we can file under "interesting". The next four were miraculously awesome and timeless. But once Alice dropped the group, he turned into a showbiz hack who would've given his left nut to produce something even as good as Emotional Rescue. And since he quit drinking he's become a born again christer showbiz hack, which is one rung below meth-eating cum mop on the evolutionary scale.

I like One Hit, but it in no way mitigates the circumstances of that being the worst thing ever recorded. It is the genesis for my hatred of Don Was. (moreso even that Everybody Walk the Dinosaur) LOMIT.
