I'm surprised my neighbors didn't knock on my door after my goal celebration.
Holy shit, that was fucking glorious.

Stoppage time. Brink of elimination. 92nd minute (I think)

From Denis Leary via Facebook:

"World Cup: Team France in turmoil after loss to Mexico. Players so disoriented several attempted surrender, others almost hit the showers."

Oh, and it was confusing break towards the goal. 3 guys around the net, off the goalies hands and right into Donovan's hands (or feet).

What a spectacular game...even before the goal. Altidore was amazing.

"We're not done yet," Donovan.

Agreed. He's the difference between this US squad and previous teams.

Started drinking at kickoff yesterday and stayed drunk the rest of the day, including being happy to see Germany win and set up a showdown with England.

Really thought the US was going to blow it. Donovan was clutch. They should have scored several times. One of the more exciting 1-0 games you will see. I actually think lo0oking at our part of the draw we have a legit shot now to make the semis. Ghana, South Korea Uruguay and the US, one semi-finalist will come from that group of teams. No pushovers as there are no pushovers left at this point in the tournament, but I don't think it is at all impossible to think the US could emerge from those terms to make the last 4. Coming in first instead of second was huge. This is much better than facing the prospect of facing Germany next and likely Argentina after that were we to pull off that long shot.

Watched the replay on ESPN last night. It can't compare to seeing it live since I knew the outcome, but the U.S. played pretty well. They were creating far better chances than the previous games and looked the dominant team for the majority of the game. Our road looks a lot better going against Ghana that it does Germany...don't want this Cup to end.

based on our draw, it looks like we have a better than 50-50 shot of making the semis

If you missed it this was pretty funny.
Daily show Stewart spars with John Oliver about England and US chances in the World Cup.
