 Post subject: i bought a new toy.

It's already been two years/three drummers since our band has recorded.
I've wanted to get back into home recording, so I bought this.

I got a set of decent drum mics from my uncle and a screaming mac book pro from my work.

I still need a good guitar mic but we're pretty close to laying down some hot jams.

i almost went with that or the m-audio firewire one...but i was able to get this for $399. I was told since Im a running 2.8 GHZ cor 2 duo with 4GB of ram that the performance of USB vs. Firewire might not even be noticeable. We'll see though.

Yeah, i'm sure it will work out fine for you. I researched a bunch of these units last fall and bought the ART - mainly based on the awesome preamps. My second choice woulda been this one:

I avoided the m-audio because I had a bad experience with a previous product of theirs.
