I know, Gooden and Maggette...seriously? What the fuck is that.

I like the CDR signing, and it looks like Salmons will be back, that's good to hear. I have faith in our GM, but we just acquired two guys I despise.

Drew Gooden is just flat out terrrrrrible. The funniest guy to watch in the NBA.

A FIVE YEAR DEAL.

Why didn't they go after Udonis Haslem or some other decent available back-up forward?

Looks like Bosh and Wade will be in Miami.

Now, let the dominoes (or Bronimoes) fall where they may.

Personally I think this forces LeBron to go to Chicago.

Unless he signs with the Knicks (99% doubtful, I know), this whole ESPN self importance special he has going on for tomorrow, makes me hate his guts, and I hope he blows out his achilles in pre-season next year....

If he signs with the Knicks, then I will be on line on my knees!

Isn't there a chance he might go to Miami? Though I don't see how they make that work.

I don't think they can make it work and still field a team.

They can. They can over the cap if they give everyone else league minimum contracts.

I think that's the point. It looks like a good idea until you realize that Smush Parker is going to be your new point guard and you're probably going to have to ask him if he has 6 friends who would like to join the Heat.

Right. But the counter to that is everyone said the same thing about Rondo for the Celtics when the big 3 first went there.

I've never really been a big LeBron fan, but then again, I've also never really been a LeBron hater either. I thave always thought that he's great, but that he just didn't have the talent around him to win a title in Cleveland. After this year's playoffs, I still think that, to an even greater extent than I did last year. I almost felt sorry for him and his situation. But after this past few weeks, I'm quicky becoming a LeBron "hater". I agree with almost all of what Bill Simmons wrote in the column referenced earlier in the thread.

If he chooses the Heat, I'm thinking it will be an abysmal failure. I agree with Bill Simmons that if he really cares about winning, he should be going to Chicago (I would travel from Milwaukee to Chicago just to see a Rose-James-Boozer-Noah team play a few times). Living in Jordan's shadow shouldn't be a concern to him... is his ego really that big? I'm afraid it looks like it may be. I love Dwayne Wade, but I can't help to hope that the three-headed monster approach fails. The biggest winner out of this whole free-agent ordeal is the Lakers. They will once again be the favorites to win it all (of course, as a Magic fan, I'm still hoping that Chris Paul ends up playing with Dwight Howard soon!!!).

seriously, I don't understand why anyone would hate him for this (unless you live in cleveland, at which point you should really be mad at god) and call him "selfish" for leaving money on the table to go play for a better team in pursuit of the one thing we want him to value, a ring. Maybe we're mad at his judgement for picking miami over chicago in a few hours, but that seems like a forgivable mistake (I'm with everyone that says that Chi is a better scenario/coach, but there is a history of trouble with that ownership that would give me pause too).

I don't hate him for doing his thing but I do think it's simply not as good a story if he stacks the deck in his favor.

I think this (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/100708) Bill Simmons article sums it up.

Its interesting via twitter at how many athletes are bagging on him. I don't think anyone thinks highly of him at the moment, unless yr a Heat fan.

paulthenshirley The LeBron James soliloquy has set the English language back several centuries. And has set the concept of loyalty back to the Cenozoic.

All of a sudden Free Agency is about loyalty. They had 6 years to give him something remotely looking like a team and the best they could do was Mo Williams, 98 yr. old Shaq, and Jamison.

He was born in Ohio, not sure why he has to live their forever.
