right? the only part I disagree with is that I think Anderson Varajao is the best player he's played with.

I think it was more about identity. Cleveland is aways being poo poo'd on. He gave them an identity. Something to be proud of. I think the criticism would be less harsh had he gone anywhere else.

Personally, I just find it mind-boggling that as a superstar you'd want to go be dorm buddies rather than establish your own legacy. Because now, he's screwed either way. If he doesn't win a ring, he'll be mocked. If he does, people will say he couldn't do it on his own, he needed Bosh and D-Wade. Not to mention what everyone else is saying--you don't win a championship with 3 players.

I also like having this Miami team. Sports is entertainment and this is entertaining.

And Ho Grant and Scottie P hugged the trophy and chanted "1987, 1987" when Jordan won "his" first ring -- the year they joined the team.

Sorry, the 1978 Steelers, who drafted every single player on their roster, will never happen again, and I don't think it;s a bad thing or a good thing - it is what it is. It's not 1969 anymore. Bron gotta do what Bron gotta do, and Ball Don't Lie. We'll know how good a fit this is within a year's team.

Everybody needs somebody to win a title.

As an aside, or rather comment to that whole televised debacle: How is it possible that Stu Scott gets sorrier with every passing year? Like, I thought he was at the highest level of sorry 10-12 years ago, but no, sorrier. I think his sorry eye has actually turned his other eye sorry if that's possible.

IKNOWRIGHT? Does anyone think that Shaq didn't win 3 titles because Kobe won 2 w/o him?

No, they think Crazy Ass Crazy and Pau Stinky helped Kobes win #5.

Exactly. And all this "Dwayne Wade is the Man in Miami" talk is nice, but without Shaq, D. Wade is the "Man Who Gets Bounced In The First Round"

So Bloor, what was it you were saying about the posited and perceived irrational Kobe hate was an artificial construct of some kind of Zen master self-motivation?

The hit's just keep on coming with this Dan Gilbert:

Quote:
Gilbert said James quit on the Cavs during their second-round series against the Boston Celtics, who rallied from a 2-1 deficit to eliminate Cleveland.

"He quit," Gilbert said. "Not just in Game 5, but in Games 2, 4 and 6. Watch the tape. The Boston series was unlike anything in the history of sports for a superstar."

Mr. Gilbert has apparently missed some of Kobe Bean Bryant's finer moments.

And apparently glossing over the the whole Delonte West issue.

Jeez. Now you are exemplifying what you claimed didn't exist.

5 rings. 0 rings. And Kobe has had shitty games, but never, ever "given up." And while Gilbert is going stoopit on the issue, I'd agree on the "give up" charge for game 5 Cav-Celts.

Call me a hater, but Pat Riley just bailed Lebron out from slowly becoming Dominique Wilkins mark II.

And I don't think it needs to be said, but yeah Dan Gilbert looks like a fucking dick. Especially when he surrounded Lebron with such shitty, overpriced talent his entire career.

I bet if he managed to somehow bring Lebron back, he'd sign Richard Jefferson to a huge deal to deliver the championship, or something equally boneheaded.

Such a terrible franchise.

Oh, an Oklahoma City/Chicago Final would be Bill Simmons's wet-dream (since anything with Boston inevitably only features one team for which he can root), & we cannot have that.
