I guess the man listened enough throughout his life that he was entitled to voice a few things of his own.

I'm reading that as a dig on my chosen career as compared to yours? You could have chosen a better word if you were looking to insult via a self-righteous snipe. Parasite carries the connotation of doing harm, and I'm certainly not a hanger-on looking for personal fame by association. "Artists" need to make money to survive and I know you recognize that. Being perpetually grouchy is easily caricatured and you do a damn good job of it online, hence my comparison to Pekar.

By definition, a parasite doesn't necessarily harm its host. It NEEDS its host in order to survive. And if you were so fucking sensitive about your career you should re-read what your "caricature" of mine suggested. Fuck you.

True, but this particular fellow has told me he "falls in love too easily" and while I'm not just automatically assuming I'm great enough for him to fall in love with (okay, I am a little bit), I don't think that's something I want to play around with.
