anybody know of any music blogs that specialize in 1920s-30s music? primarily jazz manouche, new orleans jazz and vaudeville.

i'm "DJing" my sons birthday party in two weeks and i want to have sort of an old timey new orleans/gyspy/vaudeville swing vibe

This one is great for kids parties, lots of muted trumpet, plus the songs are instantly recognizable from old cartoons all the way up to ren and stimpy.

All I have is a couple of CDs (not yet ripped), but that doesn't help you now, does it?

Some old Louis Armstrong stuff is never a bad idea. Or some classic Duke Ellington stuff. For something different I'm a big fan of Spade Cooley as far as the whole Western Swing thing goes, especially his slower vocal numbers. Then, you can always get some really old blues stuff, Robert Johnson, of course or something a bit less widespread like Skip James.

I hope you know, because of this thread I've been on a tear downloading stuff. Last night I was all about Jelly Roll Morton.
