THE FUCK??? He was just quoted about the death of Bob Sheppard. This is completely unexpected isn't it?

Billy Martin is waiting in hell with a baseball bat and a fist full of dirt.

TMZ Wrote:
Among Steinbrenner's many accomplishments -- his famous "grooming policy" ... in which players and coaches are not allowed to sport hair past their collar ... and the only acceptable facial hair is a mustache.

UPDATE: A rep for the Steinbrenner family has released a statement saying, "It is with profound sadness that the family of George M. Steinbrenner III announces his passing. He passed away this morning in Tampa, Fla., at age 80."

The rep adds, "Funeral arrangements will be private. There will be an additional public service with details to be announced at a later date"

The MLBPA should erect a statue in his honor.

He bought the Yankees for 10 mil. That's up there with the La. Purchase and Manhattan purchase as greatest deals ever.

Wish it would have been Tom Hicks, instead.

Two Yankee legends in three days…who will be third? Strictly by age, I think it’s Rivera.

Yeah, I wasn't really suspecting random heart attack a week or so after his 80th Birthday.
It's a better way than a long battle with Alzheimer's (which he was rumored to have) or Brain Cancer, but I was sort of expecting this guy to live well into his 90's. I guess I didn't buy all the talk that his health was deteriorating so rapidly.

A friend of Dick Nixon is a friend of mine. RIP BIG STEIN!

Put me down for Whitey Ford.

As for Big Stein, I'll stick with the rule, if you can't say something nice........

RIP.

I'm gonna have to dig up that SNL he hosted. The sketch where he's sexually harassing a lady reporter with his pants off is awesome.
