Dig it. You really ought to have a DAT Walkman and a stereo mic to record this shit. Or an MD Recorder.

Here's additional info:

Quote:
SOLOMON ushers in the new album with an appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman on February 28. The following week, SOLOMON returns to late night TV as the musical guest on Late Night With Conan O’Brien. SOLOMON has a short run of live dates surrounding the album’s release, including a March 4 show at B.B. King’s in New York.
MAKE DO WITH WHAT YOU GOT “figures to only add to the accolades he’s been showered with since making Don’t Give Up On Me,” promises the February 5 L.A. Times story. Noting that the horn section brought in by Was “[gives] the songs added punch and a stronger link to the classic ‘60s soul Burke helped pioneer,” writer Randy Lewis extols “Burke’s elegantly soft, urgently gritty voice.”

Dude weighs like 400+ lbs., wears sequin suits, sits on a satin and gold throne, and has assistants to wipe his brow. His show is from a completely different era. Be prepared.

yeahin the Forty Flicks DVD Keef talks about the robe almost knocking him over when Burke tosses it onto him.

Solomon is a baad muthafucka.

A packed Amoeba store with people of ALL ages there. I've not seen that store filled with 50-60+ year old men EVER -- it was great to see multi-generations representing.

Mr. Burke was fantastic! He had his enthralled with his charismatic style -- that voice, resonant and strong, belting out songs filled with such soul. The smile on my face was permamently glued. He had us clapping, dancing...it was...wow! Just, fuckin' wow! To top off his great performance, Amoeba gave away a fantastic poster specially created for Mr. Burke's in-store performances if you bought his new CD. Naturally, I did and got it personally autographed with my name on it. Such a nice man!

Sorry for the horrible photo, but it was taken with my cellphone:
