There's a hype bubble. People that will only use it to make calls and text are bringing it up at lunch.
The marketing and brainwashing probably the most fascinating part of this. My 40 year older brother that JUST bought his first computer is asking me if I heard about how I can't hold the new iPhone. People are arguing on forums which phone is the smartiest.
I watch the keynotes like a mindless idiot. Yep, this phone does exactly what we suspected it would.

This changes everything?

I have no idea what I really want tech companies to release now. But it's not another boring phone.

Tech companies should only release revolutionary products. No real point in improvements.

yeah i agree, and they should have stopped upgrading television technology in the 80s. i mean, you were able to see a picture and hear sound. what else could these maggot consumers possibly want? certainly not a more clear picture or crisper sound or anything. greedy!

Yeah, truly exciting gadgets have never exactly popped up out of nowhere. They've kind of evolved slowly over time and might not really seem that exciting initially.

For instance, the iPad's great and all, but it's not as thrilling as I'd like it to be. But it could be in future versions, or it could be the inspiration for some other tech company to make something better.

im not intending to say that tech companies shouldn't improve their products.
and im definitely not saying that you're maggots for liking this stuff, and im sorry if that hit home and put you on the d.

im just saying that the hype behind it is unwarranted, and im not super blown away by a phone or a TV.

but it actually does change how people live.

the only real difference for catswilleatyou before/after my iphone is that i don't print out directions now.
im actually less likely to respond to an email because i probably looked at it at a time when im too busy or drunk to respond to it.

new os doesn't run on the original

guessing the slowness is on 3G

i'm running it on my 3G, and while things haven't really slowed, per se, i do have a lot more app crashes than i used to

3G. It's really certain things that are slow. And really they're things that were kind of slow already. I have my home button set to go to my camera. So when I double-click it takes FOREVER for it come up. That and email takes a bit longer to load up as well.
