I absolutely adore this stuff. First had it when on my honeymoon in Italy, and have pretty much had it in my house for the occasional quaff ever since.

I think of this now, because I just picked up a bottle of homemade cream limoncello as a gift for some friends and it was beyond amazing. Dangerous, even, as it went down so sweet and smooth.

Any other fans?

Vanilla ice cream is good, too.

Yeah, it's awesome.

So useful when improvising cocktails too.

Sister brought back a couple of bottles for me from Italy last year, but it's quite expensive to buy here so that sucked after they ran out.

Nothing like a nip of this in a shot glass that's been in the freezer for a couple of hours after dinner....

That looks interesting, what kind of liquor is it? Is it a Liqueur?

Lemon liqueur; usually served as an after-dinner aperitif.

a bit to sticky sweet to get drunk with, but will aid you nicely in getting that nice buzz going.

I've never had this, but have wanted to try it for ages. I'm a citrus nut. I got key lime curd in the store the other week and I couldn't resist opening a jar and lovingly fingering it the rest of the day.

Todd, I've been watching all of the Wes Anderson movies this week and in The Darjeeling Limited an Indian train hostess offers the three brothers a "sweet lime" drink

I'd like to try that

true.

enjoyed limoncello the few times it was given to us, drunk and full, at dinner in italy. always good for sending off into deeper drunken gluttony.

forget ice cream and all that sweet stuff.
a little limoncello with a lot more champagne is quite refreshing although i'm always reluctant to violate champagne like that.

Our favorite italian restaurant gives us a complimentary shot in between the salad and the entree.

There's a quasi-fancy restaurant not to far from me that recently went from an A to a B rating, which was something of a surprise considering the average entree is like $30. Anyway, ever since they got that rating, they're trying to hand out limoncello at the end of the meal to make up for it. Haven't been by.

I still can't think of the stuff without thinking of a drunk-ass Danny DeVito
