This is kinda cool...what Don Draper would look like in the Wall Street Journal:

I was sorta hoping that Henry & Betty had the car running while they played stinky pinky in the garage, which would leave Don his new life and Sally & Bobby. Shenanigans!

that is exactly what I thought happened when Don walked in and they were nowhere to be found.

I said that to my wife as he walked into the dark house.

Heard Alan Sepinwall on Bill Simmons' podcast and he put Henry's current situation in historical context: Basically, he was Rockefeller's right hand man, Rocky was the presumptive Republican nominee in '64 but go destroyed at the convention (Sep said it lot to do with his divorce and remarriage, I think Barry AuH2O may have had something to do with it). At any rate, we can surmise that Henry is a beaten and directionless man.

Those two wouldn't have been living in my house.

Similarly, if you're looking for historical context, the Surgeon General's report on smoking came out in Jan 1964, so if scdp is depending on Lucky Strike to fund their operation, they may be in for some tough times ahead as radio and tv advertising gets banned in the next 10 months.

I played this at work and A co-worker pointed out that David Lee Roth did a cover of this song on his Spanish album, which I found pretty hilarious.

That guy torturing Roger was both one of the best and most cringeworthy moments of the show.

Yeah, not too bad. Just a quick swipe of a dust rag and use of a blacklight to expose cumtini spillage stains.

I actually like the sofa from Peggy's office:

Man, great episode last night.

Kind of liked the fact that Roger is becoming this pitiable person who, as it turns out, has been riding daddy's coattails most of his life. Oh, and working through life 8 martinis at a time. Love that the one great thing he did (hiring Don) he did while blacked out and still taking credit for it.

The cracks in the armor of Don starting to show.

Also, how about them congratulating themselves DURING the airing for winning the Emmy. This show is just killing it right now.

I think at the end you saw that he didn't actually hire Don - Don conned him while he was drunk.

That scene where Don is getting blown on Friday and then wakes up on Sunday was a pretty neat trick.

And I don't care what Roger did - he's the best character on this show right now.

He's one of them but in the last 2 eps he's come off as kind of pathetic.

For some reason I've been finding Pete Campbell's character intriguing. I loathe him and think he's a kiss ass little shit and clearly unprepared to wear the hat of a person in a position of power, but for some reason I find the scenes with him entertaining and unpredictable.

His scenes like the one with Cosgrove are so cringeworthy that you can't turn away. And you're right, it's the unpredictability of his scenes and reactions that drive that stuff.

I think Pete's on his way to really running things at SCDP, along with Peggy (obviously growing in confidence since we see her scolding Don) and possibly Lane.

Lane is pretty awesome.

What about our man Duck getting tossed from the awards show?

Forgot about that. Classic.

Actually, a lot of boohoo drunken behavior in that ep. How 'bout the victory lap around the table during the Life cereal pitch?

I thought it was just the look of a (literally) wide-eyed kid who just caught a break, but you're probably right.
