while "written in reverse" has become one of my favorite spoon songs, i still don't think transference is anywhere near as good as their other albums

4/5 times I've seen them they've basically bored me. I'd like to see them in support of this new batch of tunes.




You like handclaps and their "poppier" tunes, amirite? Nothing wrong with that, just figured that would weight your bias.

Which is why I expected him to like Trouble Comes Running. Surprised Bob doesn't like that one.

I can barely believe someone could even halfway profess to like Spoon and not hear the greatness in "I Saw The Light" and "Out Go The Lights".

"I Saw the Light" isn't bad, though I like the last half of it a lot better than the first half. "Out Go the Lights" has grown on me quite a bit, but it still lacks some intangible quality I can't quite identify. Oomph, for lack of a better term. It kind of meanders.

My main problem with Transference is the opening four-song salvo of mediocrity. "Goodnight Laura" is also pretty disposable. Take away those five and you've got a really good EP.

Trouble Comes Running is one of the best songs he's ever written.

Still the best album of 2010.

Its definitely not their best, but it certainly ain't a stinker.

I picked it up for the first time in a few months and really enjoyed it.

I'd put it in top 3 of their catalog. Not sure where I'd drop it in, though time will tell.
