Not sure why Georgia Tech is ranked in front of Georgia, but as we discover every year, these preseason polls mean less than nothing.

Also, the UGA-Louisiana/Lafayette game will be on Peachtree TV for those around the South who have it.

I think your guys might end up with the victory in that Sugar Bowl thanks to Florida playing an ineligible or 20.

Cincy plays in Raleigh on a Thursday night game on 9/16. Should be interesting.

We don't deserve it for the way we played. Great season with a nightmare ending.

Cosign.

Dawgs are probably ranked correctly, but Tech and Arkansas are way too high.

I could see us beating or losing by 3 touchdowns to all of the teams outside the top 10. It will be an interesting year.

Jeez, first year in a long time UCLA doesn't even have one vote. And coming off a 7-6 bowl win (ok, it was the "clean my toilet bowl" or something cold and freezing in Philly) with the QB and most of the offense back. I predict a top 25 ranking at the end of the season (how far the Bruins football expectations have fallen).

I wanna go through Tebow's mouth on the way to the ear.

LSU at 16? May be a bit generous if the QB situation doesn't come together.

I love that two of our most prominent Texans root for Notre Dame & Oklahoma, respectively.

I am surprised FT & Jag havn't been drummed out of the Lone Star Republic, yet.

Also: FT, what's the take on the four games series between Texas & ND, starting in 2011 (or '12 (cannot recall first year for it))?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that a lot of the OU fanbase lives in Texas (It's only a couple hours north of Dallas)

Wisconsin is really ranked that high after last season?
It's underwhelming that my football experience this year will be MN vs. Northwestern; but I'll take what I can get.

Speaking of out-of-state fans, I wonder how something like this would go over in a monolithic sports community like Nebraska:

(Thanks to the predominance of people from all over the South relocating to the Atlanta area after college, these plates are offered for virtually every Southern university. On the one hand, a good source of revenue for the state, on the other, incredibly annoying to drive around and see every day)

We already have them for the Huskers. They cost $70 according to the Nebraska DMV website. Most folks don't actually buy them, despite the fact everyone always complains about the normal plate design every time they change it up a bit. There seems to be a higher rate of personalized Husker plates, decals and license plate holders here

I get that you have them for the Huskers but how would you like it if you were riding around and constantly saw Nebraska plates celebrating the Longhorns, Sooners and Jayhawks?

The requirement in GA is something like 2000 signatures to get one created for your team, so you could potentially see one for Duke or UNC or Syracuse for that matter.

My goal for next legislative session is to create a UGA plate for Bama.

Yeah, I see Alabama as a place like Nebraska where that might not go over so well: Like, some waterhead Paul Finebaum acolyte will drop a cinder block off an overpass through your windshield if you even think about defiling the license plate of the great state of Alabama with the G of Jawga or *shudder* the crocodile of Florida.

I'll be driving an hour down the road to see Washington open the season at BYU on 9/4. Planning on catching the Oregon St. game in Seattle as well. Looking forward to Nebraska @ UW on 9/18 too :drink:

I'm cautiously optimistic for this UW season. The offense should be pretty solid with all the key positions returning, most importantly Jake Locker at QB for his senior season. The O-line returns 4 of 5 starters--granted they weren't that great last season but another year of experience will help. The defense--not so good. Probably in for a lot of shootouts this year. Should be fun to watch.

Bloor is right, Dallas is actually closer to Norman than Austin, so there are tons of Sooner fans here.

Monty, I think the ND-UT series starts in either 2014 or 2015. Either way, UT will still be way better than ND at that point.

beavs had the brilliant idea to schedule both TCU and Boise State on the road right out of the chute. team returns nearly every starter, however, breaking in a first year QB. should be interesting season. i see something like 8-9 wins.

Tennessee doesn't offer a UGA tag. I thought that was on purpose until I saw that the other SEC teams left out were: USC, MSU and LSU.

Like the distinguished Senator said about Bama, I think Nebraska has similar legislation in place now or had been discussing it during the last Unicameral session, that would allow groups to print team/organizational plates if they had enough signatures on a petition or large enough order to make it worthwhile for the State Prison Industries to make them.
I'd honestly be surprised if any alumni group besides that of Creighton University or University of Nebraska-Omaha would go out of there way to do such a thing. There are small groupings of Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas Fans around here and they tend to be the most visible in Lincoln, but I don't believe they are rabid enough to organize anything like having Nebraska State plates printed for their teams.
Rarely do you actually see an OU or Texas alumnus, and most of those folks live in the Omaha metro area.
The further west you go the greater chance you have of seeing a Wyoming or Colorado Fan, but once again they don't really have the base here in the state to demand such a thing.
