I'm really impressed with this record. Apparently I really like this band.

I had the same shameful reaction.

I agree on the lyrics. There are a few in the album that are a little too contrived, earnest and self-serious. However, as a whole, I really dig these songs.

i've listened to it a few times in my car but it's really nothing special. i think they're on the strokes downward slope of great first album, middling follow-ups.

I guess I'll have to give it another listen because I thought it was worse than room on fire.

I'm liking this more than Neon Bible but not quite as much as the first one. It's growing on me quite a bit, though.

It's definitely solid and I like it much better than Neon Bible. NB had some good songs but I got burned out on it quickly. I don't think they'll ever top Funeral, though.

There are definitely some bad lyrics and I think it's a bit too long but Suburbs will probably finish in my top 10, if not top 5 at year-end largely because I'm just not buying as much music as I have in recent years.

It is. Much worse.

There's a solid album in there but it's about 15 minutes too long with some greatness mixed with meh-ness.

Gonna try to give Garcade Fire a spin today. Have only heard "Month Of May" and "Ready To Start" and liked both. We'll see. Didn't ever really buy in with Neon Bible.

Me either, but IMO The Suburbs is a better album. Hard to escape it now after seeing them play the songs live. Those emotions are now intertwined.

I love how they turn to electronic elements to stay relevant..

Hopefully the new decade will put an end to this kind of middle of the road american candy boy wash.

The only song this band ever made with balls was the blues one off the last one.

And I only give them half a point because it was a blues song so the balls are implied.

I then deduct that half a point because they're quite possibly the worst live band going.

The saddest thing about indie rock at this point is that if you turn in a record of songs that are fives, you get an eight just because there were no twos. Makes sense to everyone but me it seems...

This is a great album. The more I listen the better it gets, solid through and through. Or, maybe, it's just an adolescent schoolboy crush on Régine. Either way, it's rocking my world.

Sooner or later, I'll get around to listening to this.

I still can't stand any of their songs where the girls sing. and I like female vocalists....

yeah, one of the things that is truest about them is that they are better live than on record
