Hate it. I have no reasonable explanation.

Can I play Dalen?

The album I claim as the best of the 2000's. In my opinion, also THE most overlooked record of the 2000's. Sadly, I've never come across another music nerd who's heard it, other than my own friends. This disc begs to be played, and when all 5 tracks have played through, it begs to be played again. It's an album that doesn't have standout tracks, and it can't be played in any order other than the order Broughton has released it in. It demands to be started each time from track 1, and once you've become old friends with it, you wouldn't dream of starting it any place but there. It's demands don't end there. It MUST be played in your home. No car stereo. No headphones. It's about atmosphere, and it needs room to drift. Your car just won't cut it. Your headphones, no matter how much of your savings you've devoted to buying them, just won't do this disc justice. Try it. I know how hard it is to play something new twice these days, with all the choices we have now, but do yourself a favor and try it more than once. It's worth the investment.

holy shit. is this a recent repress? is it remastered??

I think it is a recent press, yeah, but I don't know about it being remastered. Now I'm curious.

I shall find out.

Man I love that Boston album too.

Extremely well recorded and written.

And in a home built 12 track studio...

All I could see was that it's a Legacy Vinyl pressing from 2008. I thought the plastic wrapping had 180gram on it, but I could've consfused it with some of the others we got.

I love it. One of my favorite night time albums. Has a seedy vibe throughout that makes me wish I lived in NYC in the 70's.

Favorite track: Make Up

Looking forward to this one, I like what little Lou Reed I've heard and this is the little bit of motivation I needed to check him out further.

Brilliant.
A classic. His best post-Velvets album.

I can remember one bleary-eyed night after my then-wife and I had just moved back to JAX from Paulding County, GA. Everything was still packed up and we were staying at my folks house. They were gone for the week-end, so I unpacked the stereo, invited a few friends over. Once the very strong dose of hallucinogen kicked in, I put Transformer on very, very loud and gave the album sleeve to one of my buddies, as he had never seen it nor heard the music. I think he said something about the cover shot of Lou being the devil incarnate. Then he flipped it over to that shot on the back, whereupon he went tearing out the front door, grabbing one of those cheap pool air mattresses on the way out, across the street, scaled a china berry tree, air mattress in tow , started playing this ugly 5 foot long piece of plastic like a harmonica, and could not be talked down for about three hours, police cruisers be damned. Tripping used to be so damned fun. Transformer was one hell of an album then, and it is one hell of an album still.

They play "Satellite of Love" at the end of Ron & Fez's show everyday and I never change the channel--I always turn up the volume. That's the power of that tune.
