Inspired by thinking about Cary's first concert tee:
What were your favorite concert tee shirts: the ones that you really, really loved; whether it was because they were so cool, or just because they fit so well?

Mine:
Stereolab: mid-90's ringer shirt (from when I saw them on a double-bill with Tortise in 1995)
Image
(only mine was maroon with gold lettering and red ringing.)

Nine Inch Nails (from Lollapalooza in 1991):
Can't find a picture, but it was a black tee (of course) with a small, embroidered "NIN" logo, high up on the chest, just under the chin. High-quality shirt, and very cool.

I had this fucker, too... well mine had black sleeves instead of dark blue. My sister went to the concert (I was 7), and brought it back for me because I loved the album so much. I'm really mad I lost it over the years.

I also had one with this image on it which I wore all the time in high school:

Yeah I think I had 3 or 4 hendrix shirts circa highschool.

I have a ton of retro shirts I have picked up at consignment stores, etc that are far better than anything that I have purchased at a show, but I can't really include those, so these are probably the best from shows I actually attended:

I also have a wide range of absolutely bizarre concert tees from various local bands that I should probably document at some point.

Definitely my COC t-shirt from the Technocracy tour. Don't have a pic, and it's now part of a band t-shirt quilt.

Whoah, great collection, Stone!

is my favorite I own. It shrunk so now its completely unwearable, but I hold onto it because of the sentimental value.

a buddy of mine from way back had a very similar band t-shirt quilt, lots of those early 80s hardcore bands.

That's a pretty sweet quilt. I should of thought to do something like that back when I basically only wore band shirts.

Holy shit, the DRI and Dead Milkmen shirts are awesome. Total flashback. My buddy Lee had that same Milkmen shirt.

Thanks everyone. My soon-to-be ex-wife made it and it's hanging in the music room of the house in which I no longer live, but I'll get it back sooner or later.

And yeah Cap'n, I think I saw them in '87 or so. That shirt was a staple of their merch for quite some time I think.

Awesome, an old Hoodoo Gurus shirt!

We saw them a long time ago in SF. At the start of the show, a guy jumped onstage to stagedive. The bouncers were on him like stink on shit, and escorted him through the crowd & out of the building. No more stage divers after that. :P
