Their last album was really good. I'm only on my 2nd listen to this one but I don't think I like it nearly as much. In general, it's much more of a generic pop/punk record with alot less of the southern/reg rock/country rock sound. That said, there are a few good songs on it and it has a chance to grow on me. I'm a fan of them enough in general though that I bought this one without a preview listen.

It's an excellent stoner rock album, knee deep in fuzz. I'm not sure where they are from, but they do a sweet cover of a song from the Jesus Christ Superstar soundtrack.

thermals - good, but needs a few more listens.
klaxons - pretty outstanding considering that so-so tune they released earlier, which doesn't sound so bad in the context of the album.
shit robot - kind of sounds like early lcd soundsystem.
hannibal buress - hilarious.
