Okay, then.

Now it's on to self-righteous biothethicists vs. self-righteous fundamentalists.

Oh, we'll have so much fun.

Took me a minute to know what Dalen meant. I feel bad on one hand but relieved on the other because if I was in that position I'd hate all this bullshit and I certainly wouldn't want to be kept going on a machine just to make my family feel better.

But yeah, what spoon said. I was just telling Josh that this could get even uglier seeing as that there are those right-wingers out there that are swearing "there will be hell to pay" if she dies.

Hard to know what to hope for here. One would think people would want to move on and find some peace, but something tells me that some bad shit might go down. Man, people are crazy.

how about we knock off anyone who graduates HS with an average less than 75? They will prove to be useless anyway.

that was a GREAT song by the legendary Tuff Darts.

I think maybe it's time the Tuff Darts had a thread of their own up in this bizzatch.

I couldn't take her
I couldn't handle her
I had to find somethin' to do
no knives, no guns
no sleeping pills
it had to be somethin' new
i'd like to see you
on Friday night
i'd like us to be alone
but little did she know
that she would never
make it home

she's dead

I'm still traumatized by the one-star rating Radcliffe gave to "My Guitar Lies Bleeding" on a mix some time back.

It's a slippery slope we're on, I agree, mostly.

Bioethicists want to decide for the world what is a "quality" life.

But fundamentalists want to decide whether or not we can even die.

The logic of it is what kills me... example:

- Life is precious, thus
- I don't want her to die.
-but- She was allowed to die by her husband, so
- I'll kill him (or his family, or whatever evil thing might happen, ala abortion clinic doctors being killed etc).

Didn't you start off thinking that life was precious, and being outraged by the thought of someone dying? Blech. I want my own planet.

I'm thinking, if I'm you, I don't go to the Sears Tower anytime soon. Just as the WTC crash and collapse were precipitated by all the homos and feminists in this country running amok, with God taking vengence on us in the form of a score of Arabiacs with flight-training and knives (what, they think they're Spanish!?), I think He might do something akin again to punish us for our transgression against His word, that all politically-expedient life is precious.

Holy hell, indeed.

honestly, i'm kind of expecting the whole thing to go away as the media moves on. i don't think that this is the kind of issue that most of america is going to continue to care about now that the vulgarity is over.

A bizarre excerpt from this article.

A shy woman who avoided the spotlight, Schiavo spent her final months as the focus of a media frenzy and an epic legal battle between her husband and parents over whether she should live or die.

Am I reading something wrong, or is the bolded portion just too weird for words?

You are reading that correctly. Soemone let their kid in 4th grade write that. And then didn't proof-read it.

Didn't she originally go into the hospital for an eating disorder?
I'm sure the irony of that's been remarked on before, but still.

I believe she was bulemic(sp), and that caused her coma.

Here's hoping she rests in peace.

Here's hoping the story goes away forever.
