Haven't pulled this out in a couple years. Maybe it's the 3rd cup of coffee but I'm digging the frenetic energy of this this morning.

Little Richard - The Georgia Peach

This is an fantastic compilation that I recently picked up. There are a few tunes on it that I had never heard, and a few I had only heard cover versions of. Just a treat, this one is.

I got that off BMG once upon a time. Definitely introduced me to a whole bunch of his music.

I like that Nobunny album and think it's a step ahead from his last one. Still, I always feel like he's just not really making the great rock 'n' roll record I think he has in him. I think the whole gimmicky lo-fi I don't care attitude is holding him back. But, at least his records are still catchy and fun and full of great riffs.

i'm feeling this way too but prefer love visions though i've only given the new album one spin.

The Hives: Tyrannosaurus Hives

Probably my favorite Hives album, if only for the single Walk Idiot Walk. But, the whole thing is a great burst of garage rock energy, well played and well recorded. For me, they really stepped things up on this album and went from an energetic cacophony of ragged noise to a band with actual strong songs that they delivered without sacrificing any of the power. I recall being rather annoyed seeing this guys on TV live and the singer doing way too much just aping every Mick Jagger movement in the book, but on record this shit kicks ass.
