Cable guy has canceled on me twice, both nights I got the call an hour after he was supposed to be there after the 4 hour time range they give ended. Called me today and told me he couldn't do what he needed to do without a work order (this has been going on for 2 weeks). I told him to make sure that the work order is done. I can't create it so someone on the GD DirecTV side needs to do their job and get this done.

It makes me feel shitty like I am super stressed about not having my precious TV. It's not about that. It's that I took a half day off of work one day and then sat around my house the next waiting for this guy. I've already gotten a credit on my account to cover money lost from taking a half day off. If I don't have this resolved tomorrow, DirecTV is going to get an earful and I better get NHL Center Ice for free this year.

I feel ya. My internet was jacked for 3 weeks. Verizon just kept tossing me around. Kept making promises, and nothing ever came of it. Didn't get things done until I called billing threatening to yank all my verizon accts.

Strange, I just had a similar experience. They finally fucking showed up on the third try, about 2 hours late. I did get some money back out of the deal, but after wasting about 10 hours over these bozos, I'm not real pleased.

The first time DirectTV was supposed to install my dish they said they'd be there between 7 AM and noon. It happened to be my first full day in my new (at the time) apartment AND the day after Halloween, so in celebration of the holiday and my new digs, my friend and I went out the night before and basically drank the bar out of vodka (one of the only memories of the night I have is getting back to the apartment and changing in the living room while saying "I don't care if you see my breasts" to her), because I never expected DirectTV to be on time.

Sure enough, the guys were early. I was awakened by a phone call at 6.45 AM asking directions and they arrived to find me in my pajamas (barely), clothes strewn all over the floor and my friend sleeping pantless on the couch. I'm sure they thought we had had a pretty great night.

The next two times they had to come they were on time and worked damn efficiently, but I'm pretty sure I'm an exception in these sorts of stories.
