I MEAN IS THIS 2010, OR A JESUS LIZARD RECORD???????/

I'd be happy with a new Jesus Lizard record over 90% of these shit acts.

I can't take this seriously (pretty sure I'm not supposed to) and these white art-school types having fun with their love of screwed n' chopped sizzurp-hop is just so shallow that it's already worn out it's welcome

I don't really get what the big deal is about witch house, either.

I mean maybe if I LOVED chillwave, Sleigh Bells, and shit like Oneohtrix Point Never and Emeralds, I'd be really into this, but frankly none of that stuff has bowled me over. I seem to care less and less about each new subgenre of the minute.

the majority of witch house is straight up garbage. certain artists that have been labeled witch house, and in fact are not, are damn good. Balam Acab & SLEEP ∞ OVER for example.

I guess Balam Acab and Salem are the ones I've seen the most hype for, though. What I've heard of Balam Acab is OK, I guess, but nothing I've heard of Salem has really sounded good to me.

I'm going give the whole Salem album a few spins over the next several days, though, and maybe that'll change.

TOTALLY!! I was waaaay into DJ Screw, Swishahouse and all the Houston shee when it was going down.

I don't have an issue with Witch House, and I actually posted about my interest in it 21 pages back in this exact thread, but I think I've distilled it down to digging oOoOO more than everyone else creating in this micro-genre.

I turned it off halfway through the first song, but I may give it one more shot down the road.

This Salem album is the averagest shit I've heard in years and witch house still isn't a genre.

I finally listened to the whole album, and I agree with this.

I'm just now finding out the singer of Beach House isn't a guy. Too used to all these wimpy sounding bore-rock bands. But the album is good.

I'm a poor googler. Didn't know album title.
