In my younger days, my good man, I would take in the food court at Southridge Mall (Greenfield, Wisc.) and mangi either Sbarro or Chick*fil*a after having monged at Spencer's gifts, checking out the naughty posters and cremes. So, at least ten, eight years ago, there was Chick*fil*a here.

As it is, I cannot speak to its continuance

Also, we may not have Waffle House -- in fact, the closest Waffle House to Wisc. of which I know is the Waffle & Steak in Indianapolis (but I ate there in mid-'91; can't vouch for it still standing either) -- but we do have Shoney's and Cracker Barrel.

So, not all is lost for your Rebel-flag waving, Pabst swilling, turkey shooting self.

We have Shoney's and Cracker Barrel, too Jocko, but that's bush league.

Waffle House is where true mongers go.

Those are noble sentiments, but as any dyed-in-the-flannel southerner knows, there is NO substitute for WH. There are pretenders, but nobody comes close. Not Waffle Hut, not Shoneys, not nothin. And why oh why would Church-Fil-A have left us? That makes no sense. It's like crack! The secret is the peanut oil.... oh man my stupid microwave lunch ain't gonna cut it now.

I want that creepy Burger King guy from the new breakfast commercial standing at my window when I wake up in the morning. I guess "have it your way" means with crap running down my leg.

Not to mention that it has it's own fucking song by some lonesome hongry trucker that you can loop on the jukebox to drive the staff batty.

wendy's around here are usually pretty damn nasty. I don't get all the Wendy's love. For fast food I usually grab a burrito from a local taqueria or some teriyaki from this local bento place

Um...seeing that I only eat fish meatwise (and I'm slowly weaning myself off of that), I'll could go for the grandaddy of the Filet O', though Wendy's has the best fries and BK has onion rings...

I really have no idea which I would rather eat at....as I don't eat at any of them very often.

"Special Lady (Waitin' At The Waffle House)" was always my favorite, till we got yelled at my the staff for playing it three times in a row.

Wendy's isn't in the UK, so I'd have to go with that.

Waffle House owns, but they're not in the UK either.

Yes. But you have kebab stands on every corner... And, we should all know, kebabs are the true sustenance of the drunkness monster.

Oh, I could snarf a heap of schwarma, whole, right now.

See, despite your analogy and Tommy's suggestion, I've always viewed Waffle House as the morning-after hangover cure. I mean I get the late-night aspect, but it's just not my experience.

Incidentally, the northernmost Waffle House for a long time was in Lima, OH. I saw one in Toledo just a few years ago, so I thought there were all over at this point. Not so, eh? For shame.

The 3 times to eat Waffle House:
While Wasted
Hangover Cure
After Church

Last several times I've been there, it has been combining 2 & 3...I'm super hungover, competing with the After Church crowd.Talk about getting the fear.

Benny was one of the pioneers of calling in take out to the Waffle House that was on the way home from the bars.

Those are the exact same things I order at Wendy's. I only eat McDonald's for Sausage McMuffins and Breakfast burritos.

BK has a good fried chicken sandwich.

Of course I eat Long John Silvers at least once every month or two. (don't shriek, that's down from once a week)

Waffle House is the only resturaunt wher you can be 100% certain that no matter what kinda shit you're into, that cook could tell you stories that'd make you wet yourself.

I wouldn't go with Wendy's EVERY time but probably 8 times out of 10. McDonald's fries taste the best but the sandwiches suck. Burger King is sub-par in every aspect.
