I'm a little late setting up a group this year, but there's still a few days before the season starts:

Exactly.
I don't mind doing a CD for March Madness, since it is a massive tournament structure that usually ends with one decisive winner.
Picking weekly college football games during the regular season and then having to do a separate bowl pick em sort of defeats the purpose of the contest, plus we always have at least two contestants fail to make their picks and quit playing for the year.
With the same 10-12 participants for the past few years, it doesn't really make a lot of sense to include a CD bet now.

It is pretty much the same as last year, no confidence picks, drop one week of bad picks, tie breaker included and we only pick the AP Top 25 games.

So far we got five players. You have until Saturday morning to join, since none of the games being played tonight made the cut for week one.
FT, Marco and any member of the UGA crew are all still conspicuously absent.

Harry is still crying over all the catastrophic injuries that have ruined his Bruin's chances of being a quality team this year.

but seriously, I still believe we are missing these folks. Plus, anyone who post in the CFB thread should be able to pick a few games a week, if they are going to talk trash other teams during the season.

Fine you fuckers. I'll bite.

My issue is that I love college football and consider myself fairly knowledgable of all it's moving parts and history but this comes down to how good of a gambler you are.

I am a terrible gambler.

I don't think any of us qualify as a Sam "Ace" Rothstein. I'm certainly no degenerate gambler like Remo Gaggi, but there are several reason I don't like putting money on sports, and one has to due to with losing hard earned cash on a bad pick.
I would tend to clean up if I actually bet half of the fools I know who are willing to make equally retarded bets on such things as the FIFA World Cup, but since my success rate has been higher with the simple gentlemen's bet followed by trash talking. I stick with that route.

OK, I'll sign up this evening. I ALWAYS end up having to cough up a CD, though.

Well, yeah. Recruiting has been pretty good, and a new "pistol" offense with impressive skills players, but injuries ONCE AGAIN have hurt... (get it? injuries hurt? get it?)

UCLA didn't get even one vote in the preseanson poll.. first time in a long time that had happened it seems to me. But I think Bruins have potential to be a better team than many think.

Or put another way.... I'm in. It's almost a tradition now.

You guys are tied at 14-4 after the Boise game, your name just comes first in alphabetic order, but congrats on being tied for the lead.

The Marshall/West Viriginia game tonight is on the pick list, so if you haven't made your picks yet, you have until just before 6:00pm tonight to do so.

According to the results of yesterdays games, it appears as if Boomking will have a one game lead over the field when the official standings are released by Yahoo. Harry moved into a second place tie with Jagged and Derris jumped Z for fourth.
Somebody forgot to make their picks, so Marco will not be in last place after another bad week.
Everybody did pretty shit in the day games, but a few people including myself had a good night based off our picks.
I'm just glad to have escaped from the cellar this week.

After a couple more bad weeks you are now solidly in last place. You should start letting your dog make your picks for you---it's turned my season around.
