I really liked this book, and both Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor/Smiley's People series. I've had the first disc of the Alec Guinness mini-series from Netflix since about April :x

No, I don't think that I have. But I will be on the lookout for it now. Thanks!

Are the stories salacious (coke and ass sex) or just stuff we already know like "They were high!"

Only just into the first chapter, so nothing too juicy yet.

This is the first of his stuff that I've read, but I'm loving it so far. Cold war British espionage stuff is always great. If you haven't seen the old TV show The Sandbaggers yet, I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Have you ever read any of the Harry Palmer stuff?

Still ploughing my way through Winston Churchill's history of the First World War. My current commute really isn't long enough to get any serious reading done, I'm lucky if I get a chapter a day finished.
