Nebraska opened as a six point favorite against the Huskies, and it is now down to a three.
I think it helped the Huskers a bit to struggle offensively a little and have their freshman QB take a few hits and make a few mistakes without having it really effect the outcome of the game.
Nebraska's first team defense totally dominated Idaho with seven sacks and forced a QB that was #3 on Mel Kipers big board to throw five interceptions. Jake Locker and the Husky receiving corps should provide the Husker secondary with a good test on Saturday, but I'm not sure their offensive line can control the Husker D from pressuring Locker into a lot of rushed/bad throws.
The Husky Defense really has to step up and contain Nebraska, especially the run plays by the QB, to have any chance of a victory. If it were a sellout crowd I'd be a lot more nervous than I am right now, but game tickets are allegedly not selling all that well in Seattle, so Husker fans my overtake another stadium while on the road.

Three points is ridiculous. I'm all over Nebraska with that line. UW played much better in the final 3 quarters vs. Syracuse, pretty much dominating them after spotting them 10 points with special teams' mistakes in the 1st quarter. Locker looked pretty damn good and put up good #s, but the Husker D is going to be the best, by far, he's faced this season.

As of today 70,000+ tickets have been sold (cap. 72,000) with no single game tickets left (only VIP club seats left for single game purchase), but obviously a chunk of that will be Nebraska fans (I don't see them overtaking the stadium, though). It's going to be loud so I'm hoping the freshman QB gets rattled. I think the UW offense will be able to put up some points but the D is going to have to play a lot better for the full 60 minutes to keep them close in this game.

Speaking of stadiums, I can't wait to see Alabama playing in Duke's stadium (which holds about 35,000 and I think they are putting in some temporary seats) this weekend.

I don't know why, but I've got a feeling the Huskers may win this in a blowout... like to the tune of 41-17. But, knowing Nebraska and how they've played on the road the past few years, it will probably end up something like 28-24.

Completely forgot that this was happening. They may end up with 50% Bama fans. Should be interesting to say the least. I'm not sure Durham is capable of handling that scene.

I can't imagine what the buy in is at Bama right now for season tickets.

I know it's STEEP...I would imagine Durham is plentifully stocked with Golden Flake Sweet Heat Chips, Everything in the world you can possibly imagine that is houndstooth, and a lot of cocaine.

I'm pretty sure Duke was smart enough to make people buy season tickets in order to get a ticket to this game, so if for some reason you are looking for tix for one of Duke's later season games on ebay, expect them to be shipped from Tuscaloosa.

Speaking of Alabama, is it too early to start throwing out terms like juggernaut and dynasty? I'm sort of impressed with the whole thing they've got going on over there.

I'm hoping for a blowout, but the Huskers have yet to really come out hot and be firing on all cylinders, and they have a recent history of playing a bit tight on the road against their marquee non-conference opponent for the year and have struggled ito win those games.
The Huskers have displaying a little fumblitis early this season, so they really need the Husker defense to come out and beat up on the Husky offense the same way they did fellow Pac-10 team Arizona in the Bowl game.
My worry is that the Huskers struggle to score offensively early and that the team who can score the first touchdown will end up holding on for the win, but I hope Nebraska jumps out to early 10-14 point lead with the help of a UDUB turnover leading to an easy score. If that happens the route could be on, but I expect Locker to make it a close one in the end.

It is far too early.
They need to make it through the SEC games without a loss and win back to back titles before I throw out the term dynasty. They might be a juggernaut, but I think they need to be blowing out folks like Penn State at home and putting up big numbers offensively. I am definitely impressed by how stout the reloaded defense looks early this season, even if Penn State might not be the biggest threat to put up huge numbers or score a lot of points.

I think they called off the dogs on Penn State out of respect to JoePa. That game could have gotten much, much uglier.

I do agree though that they haven't reached the mythical dynasty status yet, but they also haven't lost a regular season SEC game since November of 2007 (so, two undefeated SEC regular seasons). Pretty stout in this era.

Florida has certainly been more of a dynasty in the Meyer era, but they have never felt like it. Alabama, with Saban, feels like it. (This probably has as much to do with how I feel about Florida personally than actual play on the field but whatever, Fuck Florida)

According to this article, they are expecting 20 to 25,000 Nebraska fans at the game in Seattle on Saturday.

Over here, grown men masturbate publicly to Saban pix and radio interviews, and the most popular name for male babies is now Nick.

Ol Saint Saban could get caught with a dead girl AND a live boy and it wouldn't matter. Tim James was out of the runoff for Governor by 136 votes -- many attribute it to his telling a "joke" on Finebaum about lowering Saban's salary.

He's like Pol Pot, Edi Amin and Ronald Reagan wound up in a tidy little package.

If that doesn't work for you, someone from a State board will be streaming it here. Have no idea about quality though:

Speaking of the Alabama Crimson Tide cult of personality, what sort of fans decide to build an entire museum dedicated to a former football coach that includes a replica display of his office?

The AJ Green appeal hearing is scheduled for today. After reading this article, I'll be surprised if they overturn his suspension early.

Best case scenario is a one game reduction. No way are they letting him come tmrw.

Damn AJ. Again, stupid mistake. No way he would've known about this guy being involved in coke trafficking, but if someone is offering you $1k for an INDEPENDENCE BOWL jersey, something is up.

Considering I've heard the story about his chair being high and that couch being old so you sink way down into it and that would give Bear a leg up/edge over whoever sat there at least 3 times in the past month, I'd say this isn't too crazy as far as Bammers go.
