New David Cross show on IFC starting October 1 about a temp who lands a sales position for an energy drink. Looks interesting, but as with everything from David Cross, it might be great or it might blow. It also has Will Arnett in it and I'll definitely be checking it out.

Interestingly, the theme music and other music in the show is done by Johnny Marr.

i think shiv posted a short excerpt from this a few weeks back - where he's pushing the energy drink in the cafe. it was cringingly unfunny but i'm sure to tune in & check a few episodes out.

What's with television "comedies" with this angle anyways? Programs like The Office are not entertaining, why on earth do people watch this?

Huh, I hadn't heard about this.

Also curious about Running Wilde

Okay, I watched this last night, and outside of a couple lines, it was very unfunny. I'll give the second episode a chance, but I don't have high hopes for this.

If it were supposed to be laugh-out-loud funny, it wouldn't be on IFC, see Whitest Kids You Know, The John Dore show, Food Party, The IT Crowd...

Having said that, I did see a recent episode of Kids in the Hall's "Death Comes to Town", and I 'd a lil' bit.

This was kind of funny but almost too painful to want to sit through any more episodes.

I don't know if comedy needs a character you can totally sympathize with, but it's tough when the main characters are wholly unsympathetic.

absolutely not in the same line of funny/unfunny as those other shows. entirely unsubtle, but also not hit over the head ridiculous.

its really not good

Running Wilde pilot was overall funny last night, but with Keri Russell being painful to watch in some scenes. I'll be recording it from here on.

Yes, my point exactly, except Food Party is atrocious.
