Still haven't heard back from my coworker, but he's on a shoot today.

Anyway, the deal is that he bought the ticket for his wife originally, but she doesn't even know who Pavement is. He was going to ask her last night to make sure she didn't really care about going before offering the ticket to me.

Saw them last night and it was really really awesome, i was smiling the whole show.

I wasn't even that excited for the show. I'd seen them a lot and the last few shows were so-so, and I don't know, it's just another rock show. But as soon as they started playing I was 19 years old and giddy and all the cynicism drifted away.

I'm excited now that I'm forcing myself to go. The hardest part will be getting off my ass and going into Atlanta on a Sunday.

Me and my buddy will be there and I'm def stoked. Saw them at Pitchfork, but I'm more excited to see them at Tabernacle.

gimme a shout...we're definitely going to be drinking and watching football in the hours leading up.

So is there a good spot near the venue for a meet-up before the show? How close is the bar where you will be watching football, Dave?

Hopefully my real life friend won't be weirded out with me meeting some e-friends.

Are there any good bars within walking distance of the Tabernacle? I never go over to that area anymore.

Looking at the map, all I can see is a Ted's. I guess they have a bar, though, and I suppose that could work if there's nothing better.

Lots of options down there.

You can either:

A) Walk 3 blocks to that "convention corridor" there on Peachtree where Hard Rock Cafe, Hooters, etc all are. There are some other bars there as well that serve the convention crowd.

B) Walk 3 blocks over across Centennial Park where STATS is. Sports bar but there are some really cool spots that have opened next there recently. Biergarten is next door. Faux-German beer house where you can get straight Liter beers in mugs and TONS of options. Literally just opened 2 weeks ago. There is also a new pizza place there and a sushi bar.

C) There is a really nice Taco Mac right there next to Philips Arena. On that road that runs between Philips and the World Congress Center to the Dome. 5 minute walk from the Tab. Although if the Falcons have a home game that day, all of these places will be packed before 1pm and after 4pm.

Falcons have an away game this weekend.

My vote would be for Taco Mac, but I'm not totally sure I'll be able to come hang out beforehand.
