Black Twig Pickers - Ironto Special

then for the last few weeks i've been trying to get rid of music, so i've been going through different years (the 00s first) and adding albums to my ipod that i feel like i could probably do without or haven't listened to in awhile, go through and listen to them and if they are good or better than i remember i keep em, if they aren't then they get deleted.

today:
ImageImageImageImageImage
Ben Allison & The Medicine Wheel - Riding The Nuclear Tiger (kept)
Osaka Monourail - Rumble n Struggle (deleted)
Old 97s - Satellite Rides (deleted)
Isis - SGNL>05 (deleted)
Ab Baars - Songs (deleted)

I'm now listening to that Dan Kelly that Rads posted, kinda mixed on it.

pete, i'd like to hear your thoughts on the richard thompson, john mclaughlin and ryan bingham

i need to give the richard thompson another listen, i didn't like it at first but idk.

i deleted the john mclaughlin though it wasn't that bad and i really like the ryan bingham better than anything else he's done.

Billy G - big fan of that Honeybus record.

Derris - Rach in Cm - apparently EC thought it was in the public domain. Uh, right. Had to pay up some serious cash for that one.

Ryan Bingham - Hallelujah = one of the best tracks of the year

Radcliffe - psyched to check out that new Posies record. I was just listening to 'Frosting On The Beater' in anticipation.

They're all first time listens so I'm reluctant to make any leanings on something like the McLaughlin record, but the Thompson record sounded great. Really digged the fiddle at the end of Demons In Her Dancing Shoes and The Money Shuffle brought a smile. I don't think Bingham is gonna be for me, i may still have a mescalito hangover though. I thought Hallelujah sounded like the bloody Stereophonics.

Maybe because there's just too much music out there these days. It's hard to keep up anymore. Speaking of which, have you checked out The Silver Seas record ? It's great.

I downloaded it after seeing you and radcliffe both praising it. I haven't gotten around to listening yet though.
