Have my tickets for The National tomorrow. Those familiar with the Uptown Theater, maybe you can enlighten me on if I have an assigned seat or it's all standing area, first come first serve, or what the set up is.

Sec: GENADM
Row: GA B
Seats: 107-108

Hopefully the assigned numbers aren't how they keep track of tickets sold but there's actually seats assigned to us. Starting to think tho it just gets me in the lower level.

Thanks in advance.

General Admission is an open floor set up with no seats, or if there are seats they are first come, first serve.

Choose "End Stage with GA Floor" from the seating chart section HERE

That sounds right. I'd call the Uptown today & ask 'em to confirm.

Anything else you wanna know about the place? I live a block away.

One last thing, we are staying at a Marriott which is supposedly a mile or so away. Would you advise driving, walking, or cabbing to the venue? Probably would perfer to cab if they are somewhat plentiful and not a pain in the ass to find.

Most locals have a hard time finding parking close and usually pay to park next to the venue, but if you drive up and down Broadway (the street the venue is on) you can find parking for free. DO NOT WALK! Too far, too out-of-the-way, and a few too frightful neighborhood-wise. The Venue is nice and the sight-lines are relatively good. Seating upstairs was assigned for the Pixies (which was hella oversold-out) but probably wont be for the National. The seats in the back of the floor are first come first seated so buyer beware, you may be standing all night.

Have fun.

I'm w/Jeff - cab it, or drive. I've lived in the neighborhood for 15 years, & it's rougher than it's ever been. It's not crazy bad or anything, but I wouldn't take the chance of walking at nite.
