Man, that B&S is bringing on the nostalgia something fierce!

Paul Heaton - Acid Country

Not bad...much better than I was expecting. Worth a listen if you are or were a fan.

Is this recent? I haven't kept up with him the last ten years or so (Beautiful South or solo projects).

Bedouin Soundclash: Light The Horizon

Latest by these guys may be my favorite thing they've done. Seems more consistent from start to finish in comparison to their other stuff while being a bit more diverse at the same time. if you're listened to any of this groups other releases, I'd be surprised if you don't wanna check this one out. A nice mix of reggae and world beat rhythms with indie-ish rock and other sounds. Maybe the album people who think Vampire Weekend excel at fusing international sounds with something more familiar should listen to instead...at least in my opinion. Kinda reminds me of some of the bits off Joe Strummer's Streetcore record.

Yeah its a 2010 release. I hadn't kept up either and wasn't expecting much but couldn't resist giving it a listen when I stumbled upon it. It's actually alt country in style and not bad at all.

Blaze Foley - The Dawg Years
The Punch Brothers - Antifogmatic

Finally getting around to listening to this Blaze Foley that Tentoze recommended awhile back. It's really good, not sure why I sat on it for so long other than it is what I always do.

Probably the last album of the work day:

Steve Forbert - Jackrabbit Slim

Should come on sometime during the commute home:

David Bowie - Heroes

It's amazing that the SQ is as good as it is, considering the conditions under which it was made.

That was my initial impression, i felt it sounded just a little flat and uninspired at the start, but I'm really starting to warm to it now. He has quite a sneer to his voice which kinda leads the songs to be teetering on the edge of the shambolic, but they just hold it together.

What do you think of this? I still haven't fully gotten over my initial disappointment, but it has grown on me a lot. The title track is really good.

this was only my first listen but i thought it was decent. did they change their sound a lot? i think i only gave their debut one spin and decided i didn't like it. this one starts off just ok but there's a couple of great songs in the middle and it maybe trails off a little towards the end. i'll be checking it out again though.
