I'm guessing that Matt didn't officially announce it here yet, for various reasons, but I think that it's something that should be stated.

I hope that he'll forgive me for being his proxy, but, no matter what you think of the music that he's put out, or what past battles you've had with him here, you have to give the guy credit for sticking it out and working his ass off for 16 years. Personally, I cannot thank him enough, because I probably would not even have one album, let alone 2, without his encouragement and backing.

He is hosting one final Spade Kitty Night at Fitzgerald's in Chicago (Berwyn) a week from tonight - 10/14 – and then calling it quits.
