It's on the front of http://www.cnn.com right now. I seriously hope he can hold off another day, if only so I don't have to hear religious nuts saying it was because of the Schiavo thing for the next decade.

I heard a urban legend about some cave-wall-written prophecy that has all the popes listed in the correct order. Supposedly, there's only two popes left after JPII.

The pope is not actually infallible. Not to nitpick but it's a common misconception.

I'm catholic. The pope is infallible when he speaks from the pulpit, which is only about scripiture interpetation. That's probably only about 1% of the stuff he says and does. The rest of time he is fallible, and he goes to confession.

It's a very common misconception that most catholic believe, but isn't true.

I hope this Pope is remembered for what a kickass Pollack he was, not for being a decrepit old man on a balcony in Italy.

He was something else as the Nazi-wrastlin' Skiing Cardinal.
