My mom had surgery to remove the lump after months of chemo on moday...got word yesterday, on my parents anniversary, that testing shows she's now cancer free...starts radiation in a few weeks.

Great news.

Unfortunately we also found out on monday that our baby due in Feb no longer had a heart beat and are now planning for a DNC on tuesday.

Roller coaster week.

Don't know what to say to that other than happy for your Mom.

Hang in there for yourself and your wife, step slowly and find firm ground and seek help when you need it. I know friends who've gone through similar and more traumatic. Not easy for them but they continued forth with children.

Holy Crap, Matt. Glad and super sorry for you all at once.

Sorry DHR. I had that fear all thru our pregnancies. Now I have the fear they will get kidnapped, or fall down some stairs and land on their head, or get some weird and rare disease. I always hear about these stories where a kid just is diagnosed with something out of the blue when they are young. Last year, a 9 year old kid near me was diagnosed with brain cancer and died within a matter of months.

Thanks for the kind words. DNC went well yesterday so at least that parts over with. I guess we'll start trying again in a few months.

Happy for your Mom, Matt.
Sorry to hear about your loss. But it's good to keep looking on the bright side.
Much love and prayers to you and yours.

Very sorry about losing the baby. At the very least, it happened somewhat on the early side. I have friends who've had miscarriages much further on in their pregnancies, and I can't imagine how discouraging that is.

Good news about your mom, though. Hope she recovers fully and quickly.

Awesome. Great to hear stuff like this, especially on a day I'm being so self-absorbed in my own struggles with stuff not rendering in a project. Its when stuff like this comes across my radar that makes things like me being tired today so minuscule.

 Enjoy this, Mr. Toots.
