@SB - you have a billion things more in common with Charlie Boy and Peachy than you do with David Vitter and the cum he styles his bed head hairdo with. Seriously, vote for him.

@VL - I hope that's true. I John is a great guy and I was this close to moving to NJ to run his campaign in 2008. He might could win with a tea bagger sucking up votes.

Indeed, I just wish he wasn't so much of a puppet for Boss Norcross.

As for my district...well, Chris Smith never loses. So nothing new there.

I know the region loves our Eagles, but how the fuck is Jon Runyan anywhere close to being elected.

The AAA's (Athletes, Actors & Astronauts) always do well for whatever reason (actually, the reason is the shadowy line between name recognition and people being rubes)

Speaking of football and politics, there is an hour long PA Gubernatorial debate while the Eagles and Steelers are playing. Brilliant idea.

The GOP could be relegated to a third party in Colorado for the 2012 Presidential race thanks to Tom Tancredo and the Tea Party movement.

All I can say is, you get what you ask for, idiots. They expect our insanely complex legislature to be run by people with a grasp of USA laws and policy at the level of a 6th grader. I need to get out and put in my early vote to avoid all of the grandstanding "rubes" on voting day.

October is the cruelest month of any election year, but by then the pain is so great that even the strong are like jelly and time has lost all meaning for anybody still involved in a political campaign. By that time, even candidates running unopposed have abandoned all hope of victory and live only for the day when they will finally be free to seek vengeance on all those treacherous bastards who once passed themselves off as loyal friends and allies and swore they were only in it because they all shared the same hopes and dreams…

October in the politics business is like drowning in scum or trying to hang on through the final hour of bastinado punishment….The flesh is dying and heart is full of hate: the winners are subpoenaed by divorce lawyers and the losers hole up in cheap motel rooms on the outskirts of town with a briefcase full of hypodermic needles and the certain knowledge that the next time their names get in the news papers will be when they are found dead and naked in a puddle of blood in the trunk of some filthy stolen car in an abandoned parking lot.

Others are not so lucky and are doomed, like Harold Stassen, to wallow for the rest of their lives in the backwaters of local politics, cheap crooks, and relentless humiliating failures. By the time Halloween rolls around, most campaigns are bogged down in despair and paralyzed by a frantic mix of greed and
desperation that comes with knowing that everything you have done or thought or worked for or believed in for the past two years was wrong and stupid.

There are never enough seats on the last train out of the station….

“I also think you just heard in the answers from my opponent and in her attempt as saying, “where is the separation of church and state in the Constitution” reveals her fundamental misunderstanding of what our constitution is, how it is amended and how it evolves.”

“The first amendment, the first amendment establishes the separation, the fact that the federal government shall not establish any religion, and decisional law by the Supreme Court over many, many decades …,” Coon stated.

“The first amendment does,” O’Donnell says as she interrupts Coons.

“The first amendment clarifies and enshrines that there is a separation of church and state, that our courts and our laws must respect,” Coons says.

“So you are telling me that the separation of church and state is found in the first amendment”? O’Donnell asks again.

“In the Griswold question earlier, the zone of privacy is something that the Supreme Court interpreted the bill of rights and several of those amendments to create. It is important for us in modern times to apply the constitution and in my view as it exists today, and interpreted by our justices,” Coons said.

Coons then starts talking about Roe v. Wade when O’Donnell interrupts for a second time

“You are telling me that separation of church and state is found in the first amendment?”

“Government shall make no establishment of religion,” Coons responds.

‘That’s in the first amendment? O’Donnell asks for a third time.

The crowd then reacts with quieted gasps and laughs as O’Donnell smiles.
