Right, but Nevada is usually a battleground state, and Harry has duked it out against some serious opponents (beating Ensign by 428 votes in 1998). You can't tell me you thought Boxer was actually in trouble, or that dude running against Moonbeam would have a real chance at being the Governor.

Or Chris Dudley in Oregon. The whole point of the "It's Biblical" comment is that seats that are usually "Tossup" are now "Lean Repub" seats that are usually "Lean Dem" are now tossup and seats that are usually "Safe Dem" are now Leaners or Tossup. And most prognosticators feel like they will pretty much all go one way on Nov. 2.

Yeah, because there's no history of Republicans winning statewide election in California...And Boxer is known as such a strong campaigner. :nono: I'm actually more surprised that Moonbeam even has a chance in any year of beating a Republican/outsider candidate.

To me, it's more amazing that the Republicans fucked around in New York (a state where Republicans regularly do well statewide) and nominated a guy that is gonna get boat raced by 40 points.

As for Lincoln in Arkansas: I know Arkansas is one of those outlier Southern states like West Virginia where Dems. still have power but just like in Georgia post 2002, that window may have closed permanently in Ark.

Not discounting the potential gravity of the election and the potential for massive pickups for the Republicans but I think there's plenty of evidence that you can't fit every triangular, octagonal and round piece into the square hole of OMG! HAKE BARGEE!

Wellll.....since 1994 they have won exactly TWO races - Schwarzenegger's recall and re-election. And now he's as popular as Fat Bill Richardson.

And Arkansas is more a Blanche/National Repubs thing as their Governor is a Dem and winning re-election by over 30 points.

You guys can keep coming up with reasons you "knew" this would happen, but unless you've seen the internals, you don't really have a clue of how bad it is.

WHITE PEOPLE are looking for any excuse to not vote for a Dem.

That is an excellent summary.

I have not read it, but I love the title.

I enjoyed it. Stole it from my Old Man who is a big Bumpers fan. It's a breeze, I think I knocked it out in two sittings.

Like Bloor, I'm more surprised that Brown is ahead despite the big disadvantage in funding. I'm not surprised that Boxer has had to actually mount a campaign against a well funded outsider with good name recognition. Unless you are seeing much different numbers than I am though, Boxer isn't really in trouble. I'd be very surprised if she doesn't win.

It looks like Sestak is getting a late bump thanks to his dog ad.

For Smerconish to be commenting on it, it has to be pretty significant.

I agree, it's a pretty smart ad.

Not sure why it's surprising that Smerc is commenting on it, seeing as how he A. comments on politics and B. resides in Pennsylvania. Wouldn't it be more significant if he didn't?

Personally, I'm glad I'll be in Costa Rica next week, and I sincerely wish I never saw any more slimy-ass, muck-raking fucking political commercials that have dominated the airwaves like cancer. And I wish Marco Rubio would get a terminal boil on his ass.

the PA senate race has two of the most bland looking doofuses I've ever seen. During the debate I kept forgetting which was which until they used one of their parties buzz words.

Yeah, Ol Sestak ain't reminding anybody of Adm Chesty Puller anytime soon, is he?

Just remember that Toomey is a right wing MANIAC on the scale of Santorum - a man so repellent that they named the cum/sweat/blood discharge after anal sex after him.

Which is what made the debate so depressing. He tried to hammer him on the bland issues, when the guy has such easy targets.
